If 4.28 is the current market rate & so do Bank Negara current rate of 4.266, meaning EURO also not well traded here in M'sia.

And infact converting EURO locally is bad idea giving the current wawasan rate of 4.315. Much better change to US$ 1st & thereafter switch to EURO once arriving at destination country. smile.gif

Euro now trading at 4.264 from 4.28 yesterday on XE and yet money changers still not changing their rates. Damn!

I dont think so. See my calculations below:

RM$ 10,000 to USD to Euro

RM10,000 = US$ 3,236 (based on exchange of 3.09)
US$3,236 = Euro$ 2,297 (based on exchange of 0.71)

RM10,000 to Euro

RM10,000 = Euro$ 2,317 (based on Wawasan exchange of 4.315)

Hi Dawnreaver,

Can I ask if you have came back from Thailand already? Is it better to change here (the best rate is still RM 10.50) or change at Thailand with the shop link that you provided? I checked their website & indeed its much cheaper!

I visited Bangkok in September, and yes you get better rates if you change your RM to THB there. biggrin.gif

Not sure if my luck is bad or what, but when I change to THB in Bangkok with Super Rich, they charge 9.50. It seems to be much expensive than changing in Malaysia?

Currently THB is pretty strong, even XE.com gives the rate as RM1 = THB9.51 and this is the average rate (average buy/sell).

So getting 9.50 is pretty reasonable I guess. As a comparison I got 9.90 in September while XE.com was showing 10 at that time.

Does anyone know a good place to change JPY? The rate I got the last time I went to Midvalley was around RM38.35/1000JPY, which was quite decent. Would like to look for alternatives..

I heard in Bukit Bintang there are some which are good, but which ones? Maybe I can scout out next time I head out to KL proper.

Asking cause I plan to head to Tokyo sometime next month =D

I found out Today, the best money changers are the one beside maybank & the one just right at the corner of BB Plaza (inside wan not out)..All very competitive and certain rates better than Wawasan but not all..

Wawasan is still refusing to bring down rates for the Euro. Even though Euro is trading at 4.19 on XE, Wawasan is still maintaining 4.22. previously the difference between their rates and XE was only about 0.01
