It is possible to calculate the estimated damage with Cyclone and all. May be I will do it when I am free.

But for now, is it possible for a Monk with 200k DPS to deal 900k damage? Yes.

My monk (with some defense added) has 97k DPS when I am taking down Seightbreaker MP10.

Seightbreaker MP10 has 138,425,408HP.

Took me 3 minutes 27 seconds.

In average, I am dealing 668721 DPS ~ 668k DPS. So, a monk with double my inventory DPS? 900k? Hell ya.

Although I never play DH, I believe our spirit generation are a lot better (right? right?), Monk can spam Mantra every 3 seconds, and still able to use tons of skill.

But the best feature of a monk is monk ability hit multiple targets, so, Seightbreaker (or any single boss) may not tell the whole picture. Sweeping winds hits ALL targets surround you, all the time. The more targets there is, the better our overall DPS.

Monk > all classes in D3.

as per your question, Cow nailed it. The elemental dmg will add up to your char DPS.

But it work better on black damage weapon, like Skorn because of the higher min max damage.

Confirm, yes! as far as DH is concerned however still lose to barb's (via usage of mighty weapon) fury generation efficiency but most of the monk's awesome skills are being restraint by cooldown.

Breath of Heaven is my defensive skill & heal members nearby and boost slight of my dps, Blinding will boost more dps but only 3 sec... lazy to keep casting, just cast moc will do...

Yes..there is a thread in monk forum at battlenet calculating true DPS. Cant find it now..but its easy to do.

1. Dismiss follower, since follower adds dps
2. Take Azmo as benchmark (MP6 is great as Azmo life is about 36Mil)
3. Time the total time to kill azmo.
4. Calculate 36M/time = True DPS.

From what I gather from the thread, monks output is usually 7.5X of the paper DPS, with WKL its about 9x.
Hence, a 200k monk can easily deal more than 1M damage per sec.

If this is the case, I think can remove Serenity -Ascension and replaced by Seven-Sided Strike -Fulminating Onslaught for more dps! otherwise, the lwyt gungho monk (Jedi Masters) are mp10 exponents.

If your life sustain is enough..dump serenity.

The point of this..is to calculate the amount of true DPS a monk can dish out thats all. This is on the assumption of your normal toon skills and not for bragging rights.

For my build and experience, my monk is not really killing faster than other class heroes.

Anyway, we will try to run uber MP10 and see if we monk can kill faster than other class of heroes.
For barb and wiz, the average record I have is 16-20minutes to complete all 3 uber portals.
Hope we can beat that with our MoC.

Actually no..I think only monks with SW build has a lot of hidden DPS.

The 45% from SW and damage/crits from cyclone is not refelcted in paper DPS.So too are the buffs from BoH/BL/Combo strike and MC Overraw. Therefore, on paper Monks looks weak but in game...FUUUUUUUUUU...1v1 its just insane. We should do a benchmark for all classes, DH/Barb/WD/Wizzy on MP10 and see who can kill fastest..


hence the rumours that during PvP..monks going to be nerfed....

I think you refer to combination of skills that deliver the damage simultaneously.

Yes, other class of heroes have that too.
i.e.
Barb's tornado + WW + battle rage + overpower + WoTB
Wiz's Frost Nova + explosion blast + twisters/meteor
DH's Bola + spike trap + death mark + sentry
WD's RoT + acid rain + zombie dogs + gargantuan + corpse spiders

i did azmodan MP10 in 88-90 seconds.
