The more DPS you have, the more you gain from SoJ.

Assuming you have a 30% damage bonus from SoJ, if you have 100K DPS, you get 130K DPS. Additional 30K damage.

For DH, it is very normal to dish out 400K damage. Additional 30% would give you 520K DPS.
It is a lot of damage. My DH uses SoJ without a second thought.  laugh.gif
*
...and also, enjoy a further 5-6% elemental damage plus up to 12% of your char choice active skill. SoJ is meant to be used in mp9 and mp10 games.

We don't need dps in uber run. Let them DH/Wiz/Barb (oops did I not mentioned WD??) to do the killing blow. Monk's appearance in uber run is to keep the ubers in tact & spam MoC.
*
...(uber) interesting!, I might just explore the monk char up close and personally.

QUOTE(paranoid @ Nov 28 2012, 08:37 AM)
it's up to your preference if you think exploding palm gives you more damage.
i'm talking about coop games. blinding the mobs (huge aoe) does not sound fancy if you only take into consideration of yourself in the gameplay because monks are tanky you wouldnt bother getting hit.
it's the same as why would barbs wanna stun the mobs in coop games, do you think they stun because they need it for themselves?
it's how ppl choose their skills in coop games.
even exploding palm has no cooldown, spamming 40spirit just for the bleed on a single target, that is not wise to waste my slot on that skill. exploding palm on works wonders when the champ dies, not during the entire fight. and for what reason do we need to spam exploding palm? i dont think you're refering to use it against a white mob. no matter how i see it.. that skill is not really that efficient in my games.
if exploding palm is way much better, im sure most monks wouldnt be using blinding flash already.
but anyway, it's up to how you play your game. im explaining why i see blinding flash > exploding palm.
if you really see it otherwise, im not forcing you to use blind.

ps. not sure if your video meant sarcasm or joke.
*
paranoid; You're cool!, ...hehehe.

I choose to use Bash -Clobber (Instead of Knockback, each hit has a 35% chance to Stun the target for 1.5 seconds) whenever a DH, wiz or weak-char-of-any-class is in the coop party hoping that this beneficial action would aid others however my 1st preference is to use Bash -Punish (Increases the damage of your skills by 8% for 5 seconds after using Bash. This effect stacks up to 3 times) to benefit my own char only when the rest are self-reliant.

My barb's Rend -Lacerate (Increase damage to 903% weapon damage as Physical over 5 seconds) skill damage could have been more potent by 24%, oO.

Thks for clearing the air up!, ...my barb shall use Bash -Punish from now onwards! whenever "gungho" char is around ...who cares whether they die or not, let them just pay hefty mp10 repair cost since it's their own choice.

not all demon hunters manage high MP well.
in most cases melee have to come into the picture, which is part of the reason why ranged class seek for melee classes to coop for high mp farming/uber.

they dont solo for a reason.
if i dont switch my playstyle/skills in either solo or coop games. why do people even care to play coop with me? if all i do and care about is myself.
if a dh is too good, they dont need to go coop because it's going to slow them down.
*
I agree with your thoughts 101%.

On another note; Monk Discussion V4 is possible by the end of this week ...need to roll a monk by this coming weekend since we can't beat them just join them, la.

True but why attempt high MP in the first place if you know you can't make it? Getting carried through that gives me no satisfaction at all.

And by high MP i mean 9 and 10.

The reason why i co-op for MP10 is to remove the agro from me and to free up the sentry: GT skill slot. I think most DH here don't really care about stun/blind from barbs or monks that last for a few seconds. THe agro is what we care most.

p.s: cm wiz is a whole different story.
*
The barb that does hack and smash with bash -Clobber will do so from start to finish until that uber (for instance, the realm infested with/by Zoltan Kulle & SB) is dead ...no ww whatsoever! however with intermittent Rend -Lacerate ...not sure which lousy barb with crap skills you've been checking out!

Yea, to carry or be carried is really not a big deal once you get into a good nice group. Heck I still believe that I can help in a whole with my lousy 70k dps while coop with 150k wiz, 300k dh, 200k barb, etc...

all in all, are we not support class?
*
We need your MoC! spamming and I love to see those little bluish tornadoes that monk produces.

what are you talking about?

what lousy barb with crap skills?

i merely mention that we DH probably don't really need the stun/blind from you guys. What we wanted most is to not get focused fire by the mobs (but somehow it always happen anyways).
*
...that's the reason certain barbs play Bash -Clobber to perma-stun uber for instance such as ZK doesn't get an opportunity to cast his fireball to one shot that DH (glass-cannon build) dpser. I've seen this scenario many times already.

Hey moba! Join the sacred monk club!

As for the rest, there is no one fixed way of playing any class. Some players tune the way they play according to what they can afford. I for one play according to what i can afford and make the best skill sets out of it.

@paranoid: its good to have your opinions about skills that i use that no one rarely uses. I like to be different and try to stay away from common builds. And i respect your views too.

@quaza: you my friend are too smart for your own good. Sometimes a little simplicity might help you to enjoy other people's opinions. However i do enjoy reading what you have to say when debating on skills and technicality of the game.

All in all, how we play the game in a party is what determines the fun level and keeps people wanting more of the same attitude in game.

Added on November 28, 2012, 1:44 pmOohh and i personally use skype during my coop games with friends. Its always fun to laugh at each other at how we died and coordinate maneuvers.

Greetings to my fellow controversial monks of the lyn branch;

Since can't beat them, just join them la (is my motto) ...my baby monk is a newly convert to the humble profession. Please guide this young grasshopper, amitabha.

She has level up to 25 after playing coop with yulia, Bringitawn & Rhonda for a few hours yesterday night, kindly advice her what skills to pick up (as the pace was too fast and furious most new skills remains unknown)? So far, she likes fist weapons a lot ...hehehe!

Sifus and gurus;

Thanks for all the guidance and sharing your advices with me (really appreciate it lots), ...hopefully, I can side-step some of the troubles that lay ahead by monk char and therefore, save a lot of time in the process by taking the "enlightened" path.

Nice build! Amazing Hirefire ring! You should be doing fine even in MP10. But do consider changing Hard Target to MoC.  brows.gif Your friends will appreciate it.

But if you want to upgrade... DONT.

Not at the moment... gem is still expensive...

Not at the moment... coz you stack too much Physical resist, not enough All Resist. Rumurs about patch 1.07 (around the conner, may be next month), Bliz will work on Monk. After 2 times warning (1.04, 1.05) OWE may finally get nerf. No, I am not looking at 80% nerf. Bliz don't normally change anything unless it is absolutely necessary and the changes are often not small. OK, some argue that may be there won't be nerf. Well, your guess is as good as mine.  brows.gif Until then, I rather save my gold for something else.

Not at the moment... nice gears are dropping in price... if u can do well now, what is the rush?

Not at the moment... PVP may be around the conner...

All speculation, no substance. Yup.  rolleyes.gif
*
I'm highly motivated and really determine to drop OWE from my baby monk build, hopefully blizz will buff other (less-popular or not-in-demand) passive skills instead ...for instance; my barb has no need to spam WarCry -Impunity anymore or can live without it at all.
