Hi guys! I'm planning to buy one soon and i really need some input here. Being rather indecisive.

1. Preferred brand: Dell/ Asus
2. Budget: RM2100 Top
3. Usage: More to watching movies (some HDs), listening musics and multi-tasking(being able to surf the internet, listen to songs and do some excel works at the same time)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: somewhere around 14"

Well.. here are my preferred specs..

1. Sony
2. RM 2400 and below
3. moderate gaming,engineering tools(matlab, solidworks, catia etc), multitasking
4. screen wide 14"


I prefer i5 for prosessor and NVIDIA GPU. But having trouble to choose between NVIDIA or ATI.

If can, lightweight, preferably around 2.0~1.5 kg

Any advice on these specs?

What about MSI? I'm looking into MSI GE60... the GTX660M version... (thought Blu-ray is not needed xD)

The ones recommended by XeactorZ are okay
But if you want to max out the specs with your budget, perhaps its better to get the RM2999 Y580 and put in a SSD instead, it'll be overall better in terms of performance

The Asus is more powerful in terms of the CPU and GPU, but loses out in terms of HDD speed. The Dell on the other hand is the opposite.

I would recommend going for the Lenovo S400 instead, its more balanced in terms of overall performance:

Erm, I can't find this for RM3000. Most sites I find is RM3800+, nearly RM4000. Anyone knows where I can get this at RM3000, cause my budget is really just that, and nothing more
