1. Preferred Brand : Any
2. Budget : RM2500 Top
3. Usage : Normal usage, little gaming
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : Something near to Acer S3/S5, similar range of Ultrabooks

Would love to use the lappie for normal business usage but love to carry lightweight ones as it's easier to bring around. Mobility and battery durability is key.

Any recommendations, Sifus?

Well.. here are my preferred specs..

1. Sony
2. RM 2400 and below
3. moderate gaming, engineering tools(matlab, solidworks, catia etc), multitasking
4. screen wide 14"

I prefer i5 for prosessor and NVIDIA GPU. But having trouble to choose between NVIDIA or ATI.

If can, lightweight, preferably around 2.0~1.5 kg

Any advice on these specs?

The ones recommended by XeactorZ are okay nod.gif
But if you want to max out the specs with your budget, perhaps its better to get the RM2999 Y580 and put in a SSD instead, it'll be overall better in terms of performance thumbup.gif

But you'll be compromising on the Bluray drive though, not that many people are using it anyway tongue.gif

The sifus here (apart from God Lee_what2004) no need to sleep one ar? sweat.gif

Asus [Ultrabook]K46CM-WX090V, i5-3317U + Nvidia GT635M@RM2099[2kg], 2GB, 500GB, 4-cell battery, W7HP, OD

Dell [Ultrabook]Inspiron 14z, i3-3217U + AMD HD7570M + 32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)@RM2099[1.87kg], 4GB, W7HB, *no VGA port, OD

The Asus is more powerful in terms of the CPU and GPU, but loses out in terms of HDD speed. The Dell on the other hand is the opposite.

I would recommend going for the Lenovo S400 instead, its more balanced in terms of overall performance:

Erm, I can't find this for RM3000. Most sites I find is RM3800+, nearly RM4000. Anyone knows where I can get this at RM3000, cause my budget is really just that, and nothing more smile.gif

Thanks!
