QUOTE(TuX @ Oct 30 2012, 10:25 AM) Erm, I can't find this for RM3000. Most sites I find is RM3800+, nearly RM4000. Anyone knows where I can get this at RM3000, cause my budget is really just that, and nothing more Thanks! Added on October 30, 2012, 10:25 amHere's my requirement again: 1. Preferred brand: Not Dell. Prefer Asus or Lenovo 2. Budget: RM3000 3. Usage: MS Office, internet, reading documents, etc 4. when you keep quoting "*W8 (white) version upcoming" what does it mean exactly?
will the new y580 be touchscreen-ized? will the price be the same?
i'm looking to buy a new laptop by year end and my budget is ngam2 3k so was interested in this model becoz it's so highly recommended. So wondering if i shldd wait till the "*W8 (white) version upcoming" is released

Why do some 15.6 inch laptops with numpad at the side and some don't?
I personally do use numbers a lot but I'd rather use a USB powered numpad and get a better lay out keyboard rather than a off centre trackpad and keyboard.
And is there an SSD slot (as an aftermarket) in every laptop or only some?
Thanks

SSD Slot if you refer to HDD slot, almost every laptop has it. If you refer mSATA SSD, only some.

QUOTE(ryanlow134 @ Oct 30 2012, 12:49 AM) The new Dell Inspiron 14R SE - Intel Core i5, Nvidia GT640M (2GB), Max res at 1366x600, 4GB RAM, Windows 8, RM 2049 (on the net) Thanks a lot guys! Added on October 30, 2012, 6:30 pmQUOTE(PF T.J. @ Oct 30 2012, 09:24 AM) The sifus here (apart from God Lee_what2004) no need to sleep one ar? 14" Asus [Ultrabook]K46CM-WX090V, i5-3317U + Nvidia GT635M@RM2099[2kg], 2GB, 500GB, 4-cell battery, W7HP, OD Dell [Ultrabook]Inspiron 14z, i3-3217U + AMD HD7570M + 32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)@RM2099[1.87kg], 4GB, W7HB, *no VGA port, OD The Asus is more powerful in terms of the CPU and GPU, but loses out in terms of HDD speed. The Dell on the other hand is the opposite. I would recommend going for the Lenovo S400 instead, its more balanced in terms of overall performance: 14" Lenovo [Ultrabook]S400, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + 24GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)@RM2099[1.8kg], 4GB, W7HB Sorry for my impatience. Just that i saw you replied someone which posted after me. Hehe. Anyway, thanks a lot for the suggestions. Will definitely have a look on them. I think its out already iinm No I don't think it will be touchscreen.. If you plan to buy by year end, then perhaps it'll be better to come back later since its still quite a long time to go Maybe the new Y400/Y500 would already be out then

What do you think of gateway ne56r12u? It's less than 1200 and the specs are: Intel Pentium_B950 Processor 2.1GHz (2MB Cache) 4 GB SDRAM RAM 500GB 5400rpm Hard Drive 15.6-Inch Screen, Intel HD Graphics Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit And the design is really good.

Design is a matter of perspective The spec's kind of outdated... and its a Gateway (Acer) Can't really comment since they are very unpopular
