Erm, I can't find this for RM3000. Most sites I find is RM3800+, nearly RM4000. Anyone knows where I can get this at RM3000, cause my budget is really just that, and nothing more smile.gif

Thanks!

when you keep quoting "*W8 (white) version upcoming" what does it mean exactly?

will the new y580 be touchscreen-ized? will the price be the same?

i'm looking to buy a new laptop by year end and my budget is ngam2 3k so was interested in this model becoz it's so highly recommended. So wondering if i shldd wait till the "*W8 (white) version upcoming" is released

Why do some 15.6 inch laptops with numpad at the side and some don't?

I personally do use numbers a lot but I'd rather use a USB powered numpad and get a better lay out keyboard rather than a off centre trackpad and keyboard.

And is there an SSD slot (as an aftermarket) in every laptop or only some?

Thanks

SSD Slot if you refer to HDD slot, almost every laptop has it.
If you refer mSATA SSD, only some.

The Asus is more powerful in terms of the CPU and GPU, but loses out in terms of HDD speed. The Dell on the other hand is the opposite.

I would recommend going for the Lenovo S400 instead, its more balanced in terms of overall performance:

The white-colored version will be coming soon? hmm.gif
I think its out already iinm laugh.gif

No I don't think it will be touchscreen..

If you plan to buy by year end, then perhaps it'll be better to come back later since its still quite a long time to go laugh.gif
Maybe the new Y400/Y500 would already be out then brows.gif

I actually found a few models under 1200 with normal size screen and good specs.

What do you think of gateway ne56r12u? It's less than 1200 and the specs are:

Intel Pentium_B950 Processor 2.1GHz (2MB Cache)
4 GB SDRAM RAM
500GB 5400rpm Hard Drive
15.6-Inch Screen, Intel HD Graphics
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

And the design is really good.

Design is a matter of perspective brows.gif

The spec's kind of outdated... and its a Gateway (Acer) laugh.gif
Can't really comment since they are very unpopular
