Lol, my typo, it's a i3-3217u. Anyone has experience with inspiron 14r se? How did it feel cosmetically? Myself eyeing for it.

THe Inspiron 14R SE is one of the most bang-for-buck notebook within the price range of RM2.1k
Personally I think its hideous haha
But you do get a lot from such a budget machine
Never heard a girl says Inspiron is "good looking"

(except those XPS ...)
Inspiron 14R (Special Edition), i5-3210M + Nvidia GT640M(28nm Kepler)@RM2049[2.38kg], 4GB, 500GB(7200rpm), W7HP/W8
A45VS-VX026H, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT645M@RM2199[2.4kg], 2GB, 500GB, W8
Z480, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT640M@RM2299, 4GB, 1TB(5400rpm) W7HB, colors: grey/red/blue
I think these 3 are about on par in term of performance.
If taking aesthetic into consideration (and in general principle avoid Asus myself (come on Asus, just change SC already

), then Lenovo Z series is another model you can consider if you find Dell ugly

Btw, TJ, I am changing company, so have to return the T430. The new company that I am joining is Dell "kaki", so most likely I will end up with a Latitude

Thinking whether to ask for the 14" with HD+, or 15" with FHD

I need the numpad in 15", but in office most probably I will get the e-port ... I remember the FHD in E6530 has better viewing angle than the HD+ screen in E6430, but again the e-port ....

Go for Dell then. Been a dell user for 3 to 4 years in the past. Make sure you get the right warranty package. They might even go to your house to fix your laptop for you
I had lost count with the model offered by Dell, let the sifu here recommend you
jimmykvt sifu is right, Dell is king in Malaysia in term of good warranty support. Then you have Lenovo, then HP ...
I think girl prefer something light?
Dell
Inspiron 14z, i3-3217U + AMD HD7570M + 32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)@RM2099[1.87kg], 4GB, W7HB/W8, *no VGA port, OD
Inspiron 14z, i5-3317U + AMD HD7570M + 32GB SSD + 500GB(5400rpm)@RM2449[1.87kg], 4GB, W8 *no VGA port, OD
HP
Envy4-1111TX, i5-3317U + AMD HD7670M + [32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)]@RM2599[Beats][1.75kg], 4GB, W8
Lenovo
S400, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + 24GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)@RM2099[1.8kg], 4GB, W7HB; W8@RM2199
Price is RSP, negotiable. If you go for Dell / Lenovo, upgrade warranty to 3 year on site. HP, you can extend warranty as well, but still need to send to SC.
