Nvm nvm, you'll have the R-11 soon
Then can bring both out XD XD
LOL, you kinda pay attention to the toys everyone is getting for his/her christmas gift.
I don't think I wanna carry this 17.3 inch around. Reason why I buy this is because I thought I can stay around in Singapore without travelling much. So, in case I need to bring this 17.3 inch back to Malaysia during any special occasion, I won't have to carry a desktop. So, I would say that 17.3 inch is for carrying around occasionally.
But these days due to nature of work, I travel around a lot, therefore I need portability more than power and R-11 just fit into what I want.
To me, screen size of notebook is something like below:
11.6 to 12.1", high portability, low screen resolution (about 1366x768), only 1 HDD bay
13.3", this is somewhere between 11.6 and 14 inch. I do not favor this size because most of the laptops come in this size do not have ODD, so kinda make no difference than 11.6 and 12.1 except with the bigger screen
14", quite standard, still portable (standard weight which most people can accept), screen resolution of 1600x900, 1 HDD bay and 1 ODD bay which is replaceable by caddy case for a second HDD.
I think 14" is real good if you wanna go for the SSD + HDD option.
15.6", I think it is still heavy, but better than 17.3 inch in term of portability. Screen resolution of 1920x1080, 1 HDD bay and 1 ODD bay which is replaceable by caddy case for a second HDD. Dedicated GPU (MXM display card).
SSD + HDD + MXM display card. Good gaming laptop
17.3", The only word I can say is heavy. You can get almost everything the same as 15.6". But, currently, this is the minimum laptop size which can offer you the most powerful dual GPU option (SLI or XFire).
18.4", la la la..., forget about it, hardware spec is more or less the same as 17.3", but for AW, that is the size you get your dual GPU option.
I think if I ever wanna get a bigger screen, just connect the laptop to an external monitor, then you can get all the screen size that you want. And to be honest, you can find more backpack choices for laptop size of 15.6" and below.
