fpv electronics can be transferred to other things ... even rc car if u want ... lol
yes... quad only requires a 4 channel

yay! i now have a goal in this hobby laugh.gif .

just got the fpv400 after work. quite a surprise how heavy it is. it's slightly larger than a honey bee(300 vs 400) but it's more than twice the weight. shocking.gif seems like walkera intended it to be heavy. with some metal bars that i dont see a use for. i imagined although it may not be able to fight some wind, it wont be thrown off by it so easily either.

good camera mount, no wobble at all. got through some indoor maiden flight, video looks good. will post some pics later.

wohoo! just found the living proof: http://www.mudah.my/Walkera+R+C+Car+Model+...F4-26841217.htm
Radio equipment: DEVO F4, RX701, TX5803, DV04

the exact same electronics of the fpv400 transfered to a car + rx701. score! rclxm9.gif

Hi guys, I bought a WLtoys v262 biggrin.gif seems like a great buy with camera as well wink.gif was planning to get udi u818a but the price difference for v262 is just slightly more RM70 more. So i got the v262 though more expensive but bigger and heavier, and i like bigger ...most beastly.
Anyway I have a question regarding the batteries. I see some batteries here:
http://www.lelong.com.my/3-7v-3500mah-li-p...5-08-Sale-P.htm
or
http://www.lelong.com.my/li-po-5800mah-3-7...5-09-Sale-P.htm
but i notice it doesn't have a connector to connect to the v262. Where do I buy and assemble the connector?

The wltoys v262, which was my original planned platform for fpv, uses 2cell lipos. Those in the links are single cell, for the smaller quad. You need a 7.4v lipo. also note that more mah, means larger batteries. you need to make sure the batt you buy can actually fit the v262 bay.

A standard 2 cell lipos (20c, ~1000mah) would come with the same jst connector.

is this the jst connector? which can be connected to the quadcopter?
http://www.lelong.com.my/feilun-ft009-spar...5-07-Sale-P.htm

I'm planning to buy 1 or 2 .... the size doesn't actually matters anyway cuz i'm just gonna strap the battery on without having the need to slot it in the battery slot. biggrin.gif

i have a question about tx battery.

i have one of these: http://www.walkera.com/en/showgoods.php?id=1650

spec says it can take 7.4v 800mAH 15c lipo. i went to an RC shop the other day and i see an 850mAH 20c 7.4v lipo. i wanted to buy that but the shop guy said it can burn off the tx. my understanding of electronics is that the "circuit draws power from the battery", the battery does not "push" the power. what do you guys think?

(me, i secretly think the shop guy dont know what he's talking about , but never hurt to confirm whistling.gif )

u are correct ... the shop fella BS u ..
that lipo will be just fine ... as long as same voltage ... the capacity does not matter ..
the electronics sucks ... batt does not push .. that is correct biggrin.gif

always good to have 2nd opinion. thanks. thumbup.gif never trust a shop assistant more than 70%. nod.gif

the devo f4 sucks AA like nobody's business. i'm on my 2nd sets of alkaline. flight time of the fpv400 is less than an hour(+ some setup time). doh.gif

man, flying fpv is hard sweat.gif . how do you budget the space your flyer needs to avoid crashing the blade, practice? does getting a wide lense adapter really helps?

flying time is less than 1 hour ??
u mean batt life in the radio ??
my flying time on a quad normally does not exceed 6 mins ... if u can get anything close to an hour that is super already .... lol

flying fpv is ez la ... just be confident .. like driving thru tight spaces with car ... just have to get used to it ..
wide lens does help alot too ... thumbup.gif

i mean accumulated flying time less than an hour. 380 motors would burn out too fast if fly too long per session anyway.

yeah, i was referring to the batt life of the tx. 4XAA would go down to 4.8volts in like 4-5 flight sessions. it's the FPV LCD, turning it off extend batt life by a lot. definitely need to get me a lipo for the devo f4. rclxub.gif

brushed motors have limited lifespan ..
hope u can get replacement motors easily when they do go .. tongue.gif
the problem is ... they dont just stop working .. some will gradually have lesser and lesser power until they finally stop working ..
u would have faced many unstable ... flips .. crash ... problems b4 u realise its the motors wearing out ... lol

luckily 380 motors are not too hard to find (lots of walkera's stuff use it).

from my own experience, making sure the motors dont heat up too much will prolonged its life. so rule of thumbs with brushed motors, limit flight time & use heat sinks where possible. thumbup.gif

not so verse with the inner working of a brushless currently. maybe someday. i know a honey bee can be converted to a brushless, but no idea how to do that exactly. rclxub.gif

got bored and started some research. have a look at this informative page:
http://www.tjinguytech.com/charging-how-to...ance-connectors

turns out, you can discharge a multipack lipo via the balance plug, for a low current draw circuit. now i know why batteries like this:
http://www.hobbyking.com/HobbyKing/store/_...ompatible_.html

can exist. i'm smarter than i was an hour ago, huzzah! icon_idea.gif laugh.gif

u can plug the lipo into any thing ...as long as the voltage is compatible
if u are going to use high power application ... make sure your lipo has sufficient C rating and capacity
