after crush my RM200++ quadcopter, i want to step further with build my own quad... The question is, where can i get the parts and the guideline to build it as i know nothing ( except some form 5 physics ) about electronics and stuff like that... i live in malacca..
*
to start u will need a radio/transmitter and receiver
then batteries to suit ... charger for the batteries
those are not included in the below costs

depending on how big u wanna go ...
most DIY quads starts from around rm300+
these quads are NOT TOYS ... they can chew up your hand if u do not take precautions
u will need to have some basic soldering skills and do LOTS OF READING on the flight controller in order to use them

this is a rough guide of what u need and what u need to do

Thanks. I went to Amcorp mall and had a look the other day. A lot of options to choose from.

I would love to learn but I don't want to intrude. Is there any flying groups/clubs around which I could go look?
*
there is almost always someone flying on weekend mornings here .. maybe u can go have a look

actually any radio will do if u do not plan to fly out of line of sight
just the programming and reliability of radio link there ... hahaha
u can opt to look for 2nd hand ones if u not fussy about things

if u build a simple frame just for flying around ... it costs less than rm10 for the frame
just dump the old one and build a new one when u upgrade ... hahaha
most controllers that can fly a quad can handle an octo
motors and escs ... just get another 4 of the same ones when u upgrade to octo from quad

i can find some carbon fiber tube from HobbyKing that is way lower than ebay and their weight is light so i think shipment still ok la

wanna ask if the rotor boom i use 12mm thick hollow carbon fiber tube for octocopter, 14" props will it be too much stress on it? hmm.gif

want to find those motor dataspec also very hard, not all motor got data, worry later i buy wrong icon_question.gif
*
best u list what your requirements for the copter ... ie. lifting what ? what purpose ?
then decide and look for what to buy ...
octos can lift alot of weight ... do u really need an octo ??
