QUOTE(zeroglyph @ Oct 3 2014, 09:45 AM) hey, thanks. great info there. just had a look up on the controller manual. looks kinda errr....doable. fpv electronics can be transferred to other things ... even rc car if u want ... lola multi-rotor would only need 4 channel TX/RX for normal flight, right? so my plan of transferring the FPV electronics to a quad someday is pretty much "on the right path"? yes... quad only requires a 4 channel QUOTE(sil3ntlif3 @ Oct 3 2014, 12:15 PM) Hi guys I'm planning to get a cheap RC Quad : looked through lelong and got interested in these babies : any of them would prolly fly fine ... dunno how reliable or stable lahttp://www.lelong.com.my/walkera-qr-w100s-...5-06-Sale-P.htm or http://list.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/List.as...d=&PriceUBound= or http://www.lelong.com.my/syma-x6-2-4g-4ch-...7-01-Sale-I.htm I would like the first one buy expensive but it is fpv! or get others then buy a seperate cam. Though the Syma x5c n x6 does come with a cemera which is great! |

QUOTE(zeroglyph @ Oct 3 2014, 11:56 PM) yay! i now have a goal in this hobby rm 2955 ??just got the fpv400 after work. quite a surprise how heavy it is. it's slightly larger than a honey bee(300 vs 400) but it's more than twice the weight. good camera mount, no wobble at all. got through some indoor maiden flight, video looks good. will post some pics later. wohoo! just found the living proof: http://www.mudah.my/Walkera+R+C+Car+Model+...F4-26841217.htm Radio equipment: DEVO F4, RX701, TX5803, DV04 the exact same electronics of the fpv400 transfered to a car + rx701. score! u must be kidding rite ?? hahahaha for that amount of money can prolly build a few similar sets already ... |

QUOTE(zeroglyph @ Oct 10 2014, 02:39 PM) i have a question about tx battery. u are correct ... the shop fella BS u ..i have one of these: http://www.walkera.com/en/showgoods.php?id=1650 spec says it can take 7.4v 800mAH 15c lipo. i went to an RC shop the other day and i see an 850mAH 20c 7.4v lipo. i wanted to buy that but the shop guy said it can burn off the tx. my understanding of electronics is that the "circuit draws power from the battery", the battery does not "push" the power. what do you guys think? (me, i secretly think the shop guy dont know what he's talking about , but never hurt to confirm that lipo will be just fine ... as long as same voltage ... the capacity does not matter .. the electronics sucks ... batt does not push .. that is correct |

QUOTE(zeroglyph @ Oct 11 2014, 01:55 PM) always good to have 2nd opinion. thanks. flying time is less than 1 hour ??the devo f4 sucks AA like nobody's business. i'm on my 2nd sets of alkaline. flight time of the fpv400 is less than an hour(+ some setup time). man, flying fpv is hard u mean batt life in the radio ?? my flying time on a quad normally does not exceed 6 mins ... if u can get anything close to an hour that is super already .... lol flying fpv is ez la ... just be confident .. like driving thru tight spaces with car ... just have to get used to it .. wide lens does help alot too ... |

brushed motors have limited lifespan ..
hope u can get replacement motors easily when they do go .. the problem is ... they dont just stop working .. some will gradually have lesser and lesser power until they finally stop working .. u would have faced many unstable ... flips .. crash ... problems b4 u realise its the motors wearing out ... lol |

QUOTE(zeroglyph @ Oct 13 2014, 01:50 PM) luckily 380 motors are not too hard to find (lots of walkera's stuff use it). or just change them to brushless with similar specs from my own experience, making sure the motors dont heat up too much will prolonged its life. so rule of thumbs with brushed motors, limit flight time & use heat sinks where possible. |

QUOTE(zeroglyph @ Oct 14 2014, 12:03 AM) got bored and started some research. have a look at this informative page: u can plug the lipo into any thing ...as long as the voltage is compatiblehttp://www.tjinguytech.com/charging-how-to...ance-connectors turns out, you can discharge a multipack lipo via the balance plug, for a low current draw circuit. now i know why batteries like this: http://www.hobbyking.com/HobbyKing/store/_...ompatible_.html can exist. i'm smarter than i was an hour ago, huzzah! if u are going to use high power application ... make sure your lipo has sufficient C rating and capacity |

QUOTE(zeroglyph @ Oct 14 2014, 10:34 PM) i was under the impression the discharge & charge plug are for its specific purpose only. never really knew they were wired almost the same way. those white things with many small cables are called balance connectors (jst-XH type)not discharging cable .. it is used to measure individual cell voltages QUOTE(sil3ntlif3 @ Oct 15 2014, 07:14 PM) Hi asking any situ help here. I have problem trimming my quad...doesn't seem to be able to trim it perfectly so that it hover without leaning to any sides. those RTF things are normally auto levelling by default ..And I have a camera but I have no idea which is the phot and which is the videos. So for now I'm just flying it around without taking anything hahaha. And finally I'm flying it around but I have no idea what's the battery condition. Like today I was flying it quite far ...for the first time and I was afraid I couldn't control it and flew it back and landed it. Then it wouldn't fly anyway and it flashes a few time indicating that there is no battery left. I mean how can I see it in the controller? Tx? I'm flying a Wltoys v262 quadcopter. I remember seeing somewhere the control for the picture and video but no idea. Can anyone help me? And the trimming issue too u can try checking the manual for calibrating accelerometer instructions |
