I would like to know if I want to get a license to practice in Malaysia as a Pharmacist. How should I go about it ? And do I have to work in a hospital to obtain a license? I am currently holding both Australia and Singapore pharmacist license.

you just need to get 50% correct. if you can't even do that with an open book then you really shouldn't be doing pharmacy lol.

what do u mean by day book and separate book?

Yes i am working as a production pharmacist. Normal working hours I would say. Paywise comparable with retail or better perhaps. Things can get pretty tough when dealing with issues / problems/ facing audits etc.

Hello there! Could you share some of your experience?
I'm graduating this year, and I plan to go for industry for my PRP. Is it competitive to enter? Will placement take long? hmm.gif

Hello, I could not give you the answer on the placement as there are many pharmaceutical companies and their vacancies might difer.

I do not know of the process of engaging PRP's in pharma companies. In my time we enter as an already registered pharmacist. In my case I've already worked for 4 years plus before joining pharma. So its a different ball game. freshies like you might be subject to competitions from other applicants as you all have nothing much to contribute in the beginning but more of learning from the work in industries and slowly master the processes.

Why you want to go industry? Do u actually know what a pharmacist in industries does? Its not easy. working hours might be long and work is tough. You sure you want?

Oh I see.

I want to go because it's more challenging. I've done placements in community pharmacy as well as hospitals. (Not counting the university placements) I don't think it's something I can do long term. One of my seniors told me to intern at an industry to really get to know what a pharmacist does, all I'm doing now is reading on the internet. But to answer your question, yes. I'm pretty sure this is what I want.

Thank you for your input. smile.gif

Oops. Pharmacist.
Yea. My cousin couldn't complete her training due to the saturated pharmacist graduate.
/k salary =20k per mth.
So, pharmacist without a license can consider useless in Malaysia? Besides doing sales..
