QUOTE(JCogent @ Oct 22 2015, 02:17 PM) Hi guys, i'm looking for a good bean to cup machine for my office, hope you guys can give me some pointers and recomendations. veron208 Ask such qns back in June 15, go back to take a look. You may want to PM him to learn from his buying experience.Volume: Min 30 cups a day Good frothing wand + automatic frother. Currenly using a Delonghi Primadonna XS ETAM36365M but it can't handle our volume and keeps acting up. Cheers Instead of asking min 30 cups, u have go by max cups a day, how many employees you have. Any plans to grow, with ppl come in for meeting do u need more. Are you looking to change machine if you company grow? Is easy of maintenance impt? Frequency? Cost? If they impt to you You current machine capacity is like 20 cups a day. This post has been edited by patryn33: Oct 24 2015, 03:24 AM |

QUOTE(Shinka @ Oct 24 2015, 10:51 AM) It has a hot chocolate function, as well as being a superautomatic. Btw Delonghi and saeco the price of saeco is lower Was looking for an all rounder all-in-one, without the need to manually froth the milk. Actually was deciding between this and the Philips Saeco Exprelia Evo. The reviews on Delonghi quality is always in question Saeco has better quality, easier to clean. How about the Jura impressa z7? QUOTE(JCogent @ Oct 25 2015, 12:42 PM) Thanks for the reply, not all our employees drink coffee. We have around 20 drinkers, so max a day would be around 40 cups. Even with meetings I think it won't go more than 50 cups. If you can get a HX and a grinder, train drinkers how to use. That will be the cheapest alternative. Less cost to maintance in a long run. Budget is 5k to 10k. http://www.finecoffeecompany.com/product-c...ient-grouphead/ https://www.espressocoffeeshop.com/index.ph...&product_id=582 Super auto for office Jura entry level one starts with XS line http://www.sea.jura.com/home_sea_x/product...xs9-classic.htm The quick mill super auto can handle 20 drinks an hour. QUOTE(LittleGhost @ Oct 26 2015, 01:37 PM) Horrible idea with the HX + grinder. well have been used in practice in a small office.. so not an idea but seen at work. Two possible outcomes: 1. No one drinks coffee anymore. (most people may like coffee, but they don't like making them because it's a huge hassle) 2. The grinder/hx will die of a horrible death very soon. I'd say get an expensive superautomatic and leave the maintenance to the service men. some small biz owner has such setup and employees got hooked. Owner have been using such HX for a few yrs. it really depends on how many cups he needs in 1 hr. This does 20 cups per hour. many Prosumer does 20 shots an hour. http://www.chriscoffee.com/Quickmill-Andre...emium-p/980.htm Grinder wise, Euraka can hand 20 ppl, they are often seen in small cafe. I got mine used from a small drive thru cafe which was using it for over 5yrs. if they one day cannot sell 50 cups.. hmm... such baby also HX.. can make 190 cappuccino per hour http://www.coffeeitalia.ie/nuova-simonelli...-gr-silver.html ![]() This post has been edited by patryn33: Oct 27 2015, 02:02 AM |

QUOTE(JCogent @ Nov 30 2015, 04:56 PM) Where do you guys usually get your beans from? My consumption is around 3kg a month and most suppliers don't deliver because of the small quantity, but those at the supermarkets are not good at all That's a lot of coffee. When you said they don't ship who are your suppliers? Local roasters?Have you tried Thailand roasters and if they ship? Maybe get a subscription going. Gocoffeego.com does ship overseas you could order 2 5lb bags but shipping not cheap. Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters - Dancing Goats does come in 5lb bag sold on Amazon. Not sure if there is free shipping Or why not try roasting? This post has been edited by patryn33: Dec 1 2015, 09:03 AM |

QUOTE(erueimo @ Nov 30 2015, 07:17 PM) The cafe had a Breville 920XL coupled with a Breville grinder pro, while the dual boiler is pulling shots nicely, but the steam is barely strong enough for the demand. What kind of grinder you using?Especially when the customers order 5 cups of hot milk based drinks... Gawwwd! Beans was good, espresso shots were decent enough (at least for my non-espresso drinking boss and colleagues; I had to make a latte for them to test taste while dialing in) , but I believe it can be better with a proper commercial grade machine. True, the shop is using a breville 920xl dual boiler. The solenoid valve broke once after a consecutive 6-7 pulls, got it fixed for free The grinder is giving out though, dosing out inconsistent doses already, maybe my colleagues forgot to lock the upper burr back into place before placing the hopper back That machine is not commercial grade, it's a highend home machine. I am surprised they fix it. It's not design to put out so many cups an hour if your cafe is busy. Those E61 machines usually runs 40 shots an hour |

QUOTE(JCogent @ Dec 1 2015, 11:25 AM) Thanks for the reply, will check them out There is old fashion way to roast or this high tech wayCurrently I'm getting illy from Classic Coffee and Beverage Malaysia (purchasing 3-4 canisters x3kg each time). Probably will switch to someone who can deliver in smaller batches, nothing worse than stale beans. I'm still far from the level where i can roast my own coffee, doubt i'll ever get there http://www.ikawacoffee.com/about/ Illy coffee not cheap right? 250g how much? Buy enough to finish them in 2 weeks. I consume like 750g a week, can easily order on a weekly basis and get them to give u a discount for a year long subscription just have to email them and see you can work out a deal Check out such places http://www.philscoffeecompany.com/Coffee-Subscription.php http://www.akha-coffee.com/preberry http://www.coffeeworks.co.th/preview/espresso-napoli-2/ http://www.hockhoelee.com/wp/ This post has been edited by patryn33: Dec 1 2015, 12:13 PM |

Different blend peak at different time, also last for different time.
Klatch told me their WBC generally peak on the 7th day. Anyway general rule of 15 always come to play. Can finish 750gm in a week can afford it to get it ship from Neighboring countries if they can get u in say 3-7 days. http://coffeegeek.com/forums/espresso/questions/573959 |

QUOTE(JCogent @ Dec 1 2015, 02:05 PM) Mine is like this one: issue with Illy as dwRK had mention they deteriorate fast. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/91Pd...7,606_SH20_.jpg RM395 for 3kg If we buy in 250g cannisters it will be very expensive. getting a 3kg tin is cheap but beans are stale by the 3rd day and 90% of beans are stale! You are spending RM395. if you buy 250g u get alot fresher beans but at higher cost maybe good to look else where to get fresher beans and keeping cost down |

QUOTE(dwRK @ Dec 1 2015, 12:41 PM) Correct. So my general rule of thumb 5-10 days is ok. Peak on the 7th day means it starts going down hill from there lucky my palette not that good to taste between day 4 vs day 11. Since we can't finish everything on that day, better we try to catch it a few days before and a few days after. much like yourself I try to finish my beans within a reasonable time. it great U can keep to such tight rules. Optimal time is what? Peak of day 7, day 6 and day 8 how? For ppl who can consume a lot like JCogent not hard to clear in 7 days just really depends when coffee gets roasted and how it it takes to get you. If one is buying from U.K., 7 days gone by! Some buy from China when it gets here over 2 weeks flew by. Even can finish in 5 days means little most ppl are not able to discriminate between 5 day old vs 10mths old when they drinking their fav frap. which is why biz for these chains are good or GREAT.
