I don't like mignon coffee output,sometimes  the coffee spread outside the portafilter 
Cleaning it easy tho, you don't need to calibrate because the adjustment staying same 

My ROK grinder finally arrived after a 3 months delay from the ETA. Overall i would give it 7.5/10. The grinder is capable of grinding very fine with minimal fines. It has infinite setting on the burrs as well. Took me about 30-40 sec for a 17g dose of coffee beans.

The only draw back I feel is the aluminium cup that is suppose to hold the grounds. There's quite a bit of static on it and the grounds always clump up together and it's always a mess after I transfer them to the filter basket.

It fulfils its duty as a grinder but user friendly wise not as great as I would have expected.

You're right.. grinder is more important and coffee gets stale after 15 mins of grinding.. will consider in investing in the future but maybe getting a ok to use hand grinder is fine at the moment..
Coffee machines is really overpriced in Malaysia.. the same thing I could get about rm200-300 cheaper in Thailand.

Guys. How often u guys do water back flush & chemical back flush to your Oscar?
I did short cycle water back flush after each shot, 2 cycles, run 5 sec, hold 3 sec.
I did 2 weeksly chemical backflush according to instruction 5 cycles, run 10sec hold 10sec, water back flush 10 cycles run 5sec hold 3sec.

competition shots happen in a short frame of time. Hence any residues won't "stale" during the time. It also makes less sense to do it during the competition as it screws with presentation and rhythm.

In proper cafes, there are standards such as the 1 hour timer cleaning procedure. When the timer hits 1 hour, anyone who is operating it should at least scrub the shower screen and do a water back flush. The whole point is to prevent stale loose coffee.

Im happy with my stock oscar performance. As long as it can prodece those addictive perfect shot aroma that on par with cafe coffee, i wont do upgrade. Im not aim for perfection. I may just stick onto current setup until they stop working, then switch to those poisoning machine.

Do u think using timer to switch on this machine will spoil the machine one day? I know it needs vacuum breaker for optimal fuction with timer.
