2yrs for me now in the Hario Mini. Maybe my tastebuds has improved over time but I'm starting to taste the difference with an aeropress using the hario mini vs a 64mm burr grinder.
I find there's just way too wide distribution of grind particles in the Mini from boulders all the way to dusts that makes alot of my coffees tasting bitter + sour at the same time.

I'm looking to upgrade to a Commandante C40 Grinder..but the availability is tough  sad.gif  sad.gif

I took a peek at a site in Germany carrying it and it costs almost RM1.1K !!  shocking.gif  shocking.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
Probably might want to rethink this haha....there's always the Porlex JP30 and slightly higher end ones too like Handground and Lido (also another wallet burner)
*
Lido is cheaper than 1.1k

i read the 1st page about some equipment for stater and few pages after that but it was back on 2012. Are there any recent equipment/ brewer machine that is affordable for a stater like me?

guys,

those of you who grind and brew your own coffee, roughly how much it cost per cup?
*
hmm... I think the bulk of the cost come from beans.

U get cost associated with
- water
- electricity or gas
- milk
- beans

pretty high price for my standard (which is ~ 50 sen)

but much cheaper than high class coffee shop  biggrin.gif
*
at 50 cents your beans quality and those who spend 1-2RM quality very different.
with budget of 50 cents what kind of coffee U drink?

high class coffee shops also spends like 2RM on drink, but they have to pay rent, labor and make a profit so got to charge more $$

I actually just take powered bean, put in a filter bag (not sure what's the name) and just simmer it with hot water. Lol

I know not as good as those rm 1 or 2 and you must grind your own beans
*
You mean ground coffee? Powered coffee is really fine.
If so you may want to read below and change to
Using pour over, vessel change cost of beans unchanged

What is the precise definition of single origin?
Let's say you have different beans from different farms but its from a single region, is this single origin? Or 2 different beans from single region, is this considered single origin too?
Or the definition is defined ownself?
