Not sure. I left it at 13% before i went to work (8AM) and it was dead when i came home at 8PM so i'm not sure when it turned off. And i never paid attention to the charging icon as i never charged via usb. How does usb charging looks like?

when charge, u go setting n c the battery. i discover this because the first time it dead itself, i put there n charge for more than 3 hrs, but oni managed to charge until 50+%.

r u charging using the original N7 charger, ur phone charger or via usb?

if ur using the original charger and still getting that kind of charging speed, perhaps u can turn off ur wifi, sync and kill all multi-task and see if it is charging at the same rate...if it does it could be other installed app running while ur charging...im not sure how much these running tasks/app may affect ur charging speed but you could try these and see if the charging rate improves...

For those who have the battery dead on certain level etc (7%..) why not try to calibrate the battery before sending to repair?
this happens to my other android phone after flashing a custom rom, which the battery stat might be wrong.
it shows 7% but actually the battery is flat. try download battery calibrator in google play.

if not mistaken dead pixel cannot be removed as it is screen problem (hardware defect) so need to replace or u just ignore it...well u must want a device with no defect at all right...

Try search internet about trickle charge for nexus 7.

When your battery is completely depleted, nexus 7 charger will not charge the battery normally, it will only trickle charge it to protect the battery. That's y you only get 50% after 3 hours charge.

The actual problem is, the charger should change back to normal charging but for some reason it does not. I seems like the charger only check the battery voltage once and decide to charge at trickle or full charge. Once u have trickle charge a bit, turn off/on or plug /in out the charger it will charge normally .

I just updated mine to 4.1.2. After the update the response seems to be noticeably faster and no lag at all. I am impressed. Better than my new iPad rclxms.gif

Good job Google biggrin.gif

If its really dead, there are no way to remove it. However if its stuck pixel u can try those apps in play store. Most of the time it doesn't help much. Other tricks involves applying pressure on the stuck pixel by pressing it physically with your finger. I personally cured stuck pixel on 2 of my devices by snapping (jentik) the stuck pixel with varied strength. You can search Google for more examples how to apply pressure on the stuck pixel. Good luck

Hhmmm... I had sent in my Nexus 7 for the 3rd time on 08/10/2012. Then they said they will replace a new unit for me. Time to replace? ETA is 25/10/2012!!! And this is taking into consideration the fact that it is already officially sold here. You be the judge.
*
I call that a lousy CS. You did sent the tab to them fornthe 3rd times. The least they can do is to replace on the spot thus avoiding you another trip to their place. Stupid Asus Malaysia.

Dead pixel is exclusively black. Stuck pixel comes in many colors including black.

Try to apply pressure on it and see if there are any reaction to it. If no reaction at all, then can safely consider it as dead
