Hey! I'm an owner of an old 97' Iswara. I'm planning on getting it re-painted cos the paint-work is starting to show its age (under the sun and all). Has anyone gotten their Iswara re-painted b4? How much does a job like that cost?

Any color recommendations?  thumbup.gif

depends on wat paint~~ solid would be around 600-700 only~~~ in white colour lar~~

if metallic.. i think blackpc anwered di~~~ 1.5k~~~ sweat.gif sweat.gif

No offence here, i do have a iswara auto 1.5 1999, now my car paint already got few chicken pox but still not yet torn (underthe paint) and the gearbox origin come already got minor problem, when i push to D it will vibrate hard, now few year already even serious, even in gear D vibrate like hell.

i was wonder still lot of people appreciate this kind of car, nowaday car price are so low aready, change or modified on iswara is a waste for me already, the car model also very old. now perodua car price is low and much more better than iswara

iswara FC is high yet the car is not reliable. it is light, when travelling highway even worst, when close the door sound also like snap a piece of junk.

change to manual gearbox la... solve all ur problem... FC will improve... power also improve...

its lightness is the advantage compare to other proton cars la... most modded 1.3L iswara can out drag a standard 1.5L wira....

love for a car is the passion lar... not the known pros and cons of the car... who in here dont wish to own an evo or skyline??... rite??....

ya, i agree who don't wan to drive a better car. but for the comment of iswara its quality is really suck but still the advantage is cheap, of course mod 1.3 can overtake 1.5 wira since it is original.

1.5 wira auto pickup is even worst than 1.5 auto iswara but the back power is better, all is about the gearbox ratio.

for the manual gearbox how much is it, i mean the condition is good 1, because i hv sit in my old uncle saga, the gear stick seem very loose and it is very easy to change gear, but when he change gear the sound is like "glok glok" not solid at all ler..

I think you're car's idle is too low. When you engage the drive gear, the idle drops till it's about to stall and hence the extreme rattling. Its a good car for the ammount of money you're paying for it. Granted you see a lot of iswara's wrapped around lamposts and tree-trunks, doesnt that hold true for cars like the Mitsubishi Colt (students car) or the volkswagen beetles? I don't think those cars handled well or had particularly good workmanship either. It's my first car...so i'll always like it even though it's a problematic peice of crap. The rear vertical lights does it for me sweat.gif

Wahh! 1.5K for a metallic paint job. Aiyoyo. Valentino red here I come then. Hehe. Or I might revert back to good old grey (wondering if grey is considered metallic as well...hope not!)

Oh, and there's an adjustable nut (which controls the tension of a wire) that you can adjust to control your idling rev. Just ask your mechanic to tweak that for you and all shall be good.

I think some of em r true. it's lightness make it more balance in power to weight ratio. My father's 1.5 saga M is very responsive when accelerate, can overtake many auto cars easily. 1.3 I think abit low in power anyway, somemore urs is auto. Ur auto box kong already, just change one. So sad it's only 6 years old, right? potong is like that one.

my father changed his gearbox when the car is 9-10 years old, now 16 years old liao. About rm1k, i think it's recond one so also got "glok glok" sound, but sound a bit similar to initial D that FD gear changing sound, like driving sports car rclxms.gif

it does fix after changing new mouting but the problem when N push to D jerking is still the same.

but after not so long period, problem come back already, ask proton service center they wan to check open the gearbox and check, SIAO don't know how much it cost for labour + how many days they need, so no need to use the car already, and since new car coming is already like this
