The screen's bigger but 16:9 ratio means its virtually no benefit for use other than watching 16:9 vids

Only advantage I can think of... is Apple's gonna pay less for its LCD.

Summore the 5 now looks so not proportioned... which I'm sure Apple knows since they added that 2 lines at the back to hide the proportion. And whats with the speaker holes.

I think from a marketing perspective. Iphone knows what it is doing. I am sure they are able to launch a much more impressive model than this with more functions and prolly higher specs.

But, that would compel the 4S users to upgrade their phone. Which in the long run, is a bad pattern/culture similar to most other Android phones.

Apple's target market I assume would be those non-Iphone users, and also those which are using the older generation of Iphone such as the 3GS.

Their improvements will be gradual, not enough to make users of the previous gen Iphone to upgrade, yet gives enough reason for those with the much older gen to upgrade. If Apple were to create mind blowing features EVERY generation, consumers will soon realize they are a bigger rip-off than they already are

Am I the only one that really like Iphone 5? I know the features are not as good as certain brand but i feel like Apple is more on wanting to improve their current brilliant features and to bring them to the next level.They do not want to add more features since they are more into improving/ upgrading to a better one. I disagree with people saying Iphone is 'overrated' since what they offer to customers are always a quality product that people adore (iOS is a stable OS). Some brands are even more 'overrated' with tons of advertisements.If you think Iphone is not worth your money then do not buy them.

Come to think again,what designs and features can you ask for when it's already a 'smart'phone.And if they were to change the design and add more features, other brand companies will say that the enhanced features or specs are similar to them thus they will start all the suing all over again. We, customers know what is best for ourselves.

But I'm not talking about features, I'm disappointed solely on the 16:9 aspect ratio and its aesthetics.

This has nothing to do with marketing.

ps: I'm a dumb user who has a IP4 who wanted to stay with iOS and was looking forward towards a more useable screen due to deteriorating eyesight.

Ah yes I know, just that I see a lot of people lambasting Apple for their recent lack of innovation and features compared to their competitors. Just stating my general opinion.

yeah im quite disappointed at the aesthetic when i first read on the rumours. was hoping the end product that will be released wont look like that, but it did.

either way, i have decided to upgrade from my almost 2 years iP4. already placed a pre-order for the iP5. will b picking up at the apple store on the 21st. hopefully it wont be too much disappointed when i do hold it in my hands.

Still weighing the pro's and con's of familiarity vs screen real estate... considering moving to Android... Xperia T.

btw bigger screen size dont mean much when you still got to zoom in. Take a look at the S3 or even Note. Its huge but you cant even make out the letters when it is at the smallest font. Try it with your iPhone.....even the smallest font is readable. In the end, you need to zoom for either iPhone or others
