QUOTE(Calcool77 @ Jan 9 2013, 05:52 PM) Fair said, I don’t denied your facts which based on professional authority. Dont think that sgd2300 is the offer given to him, what he trying to say is the expected salary because he afraid that the salary he put in resume is keeping HR away from him. However, put aside of just figure comparison, all I want to say that there are so many perspective in viewing a single thing, such as career growth, prospect, exposure and so on. If you did noticed cfgann message, he only have less than a year working experience, so I assume he is still young, a full promising young talent I supposed. In term career growth, prospect, exposure and so on, I don’t think Singapore will provide anything lesser than what he is having in Malaysia, though I am not saying back in MY is not good but there are always limitation, if not why should one escape from MY if he is assured with good career growth though salary might be lesser. So now, back to your calculation theory of which sgd0.827 : myr1.000. He is given SGD 2300 as base, are you telling me with MYR 2781 is better back in MY? If factor in with further external factors such as savings, to own property in shortest time, or whatever that make sense. Given the same flat rate of increment, given the same period of time, let’s be honest who will be last winner?? Well, all I want to say it cannot be an apple to apple comparison. Even provided it’s an apple to apple comparison, I would rather see things in different angle. For this case, I would definitely encourage him to come over although I hate to do this, but everyone deserve their hard fought chance. p/s: I have never said SGD 2300 is good enough but so long he/she satisfy, it should be good enough. just my opinion. |

QUOTE(momijigari @ Jan 10 2013, 06:47 AM) Have you wondered why are they still working if fueled with so much unhappiness? yup, is either money or working environment . if people complain about the work, mean the salary is good, if people complain about the salary, mean the environment is good, that why they are not leaving even they complaining alot. Tell me how many people are 100% happy with their company? Even if I work at this place, my experience is going to be different than what you're going to experience. Look at the contract terms and remuneration, if you are sold then join la. If not, look elsewhere. |

QUOTE(pennyBBT @ Jan 13 2013, 09:10 PM) May I know what is the other position that you have rejected? Looking for jobs in sg is soooooo hard..................... Actually looking for job in sg cannot say is so hard, it just your resume must review your strength because HR is the one who forward your resume to the hiring manager, if you resume does not catch the eyes of HR, they just browse through only.maybe should redo your resume, simplify it and show what you good at. as for interview presenting yourself, if those strength you put in the resume is done by you, confirm you can present it very well, i also not really good at presenting, just i know my resume very well, then i just presenting it the way i want, as long as the interviewer get the answer they looking for.cheers, push yourself to the edge of cliff and you will survive. dont say you cant when you never test yourself. |

QUOTE(T3N5AI @ Jan 14 2013, 08:40 PM) Not really that hard, just send in a good resume and dun flung the interview then u should be ok. And yea, please dun pay too much attention to the pay even though its low and enough for u to survive. After all, what u want is to set foot in sg and when u r steable or steady, then onli u start on moving to a better higher pay job. I've actually gotten a 30% percent pay cut moving to sg, but hey, once I've built up my reputation, even if u dun pay me enough, I'll find another better paying job. Haha, but did you notice that mostly all the fresh grad coming to this thread asking the salary almost the same as what they been offered in malaysia, it is truth that salary is how much you evaluate your skill set, so dont downgrade yourself, but in the same time they also complain that job hard to get. this is the scenario i saw now. |

QUOTE(realventis @ Jan 15 2013, 05:01 PM) Guys.. I'm sorry if this question were asked alot of times and if your guys thinked that I didn't do any homework by myself (actually I always follow this thread and jot down some important facts). 1. look for Fragrance Hotel Waterfront at pasir panjang, nearest mrt station is clementi. one stop to jurong east mrt. how much is depend on when you stay, weekdays or weekend. please check it out.I hope that the seniors can help me by giving some valuable feedback. Anyway here is my question: 1) I will be arriving in Singapore next month. My flight is scheduled to arrived in evening. Hence I need to find affordable accomodation which near with Jurong area. Anyone can help me to recommend cheap and comfortable hotel? I don't care if it is a backpackers or budget hotel since I will be staying for one night only. If possible please state the budget one shud expected to prepared for the accomodation. 2) Is it wise to change all the money to SGD before arriving at Singapore? Will I have some advantage if I exchange some of them in Malaysia and then leave the rest of it to be exchange in Singapore? 3) I will be totally cut off from the world outside since I will not have any Internet line or phone line at least one month (I planned to sign for Singtel maybe after I have my first month salary). I'm wondering is there any temporary Internet line sold at Singapore (something like prepaid sim card) so that I can keep in touch with my family? I know there is alot of cyber cafe in Singapore but i prefer to surf at home. FYI i am using ipad for the surfing purpose. Thanks for reading my post. Hope to get some feedback soon. Cheers. 2. MYR-> SGD should be change at malaysia as it would be higher, similiar like SGD->MYR, change at Sg is more hgher, this is what i observe, correct me if i am wrong. 3. i think all telcos prepaid got internet service, not sure how much you need to pay, maybe other forumer can help? is something like SGD3 for 300MB? |
