Guys, can recommend me portable speaker? The cheaper the better. Prefer < RM 200 but I doubt portable speaker will be good. Thinking of connect to FiiO X3 or Note 2. Max budget is RM 300. I don't expect a good bass from portable speaker TBH.

i know a place still can get s0nic gear uforia 1 and uforia 2, trust me it is impressive travel-size speaker tongue.gif but need power adapter
other choice is gigawork t20

Ada orang sudah ngetest D 1080 IV kah? Now I'm stuck with Edifier E25 and D 1080. Edifier R1900 TIII, R2600, size too large for my desk. doh.gif So hard...
*
if not mistaken d1080 is similar size to r1900t3. Ur table cannot fit?

For now, more towards R1900 Tiii. Cheaper than Swan but better sounding, as claim by listener.  Or perhaps get R2700, 4cm smaller than R2800. Complicated and too many to process. doh.gif Or wait for R1600T iii, which I hope better than R1900T iii.
*

no need to wait R1600, because i own a few 4" speakers already.
the bass tak cukup cover below 100hz (roll off), definitely need a subwoofer.

where 5" can go until 60hz, considering cheap 2.1 set use a 5" subwoofer. now u got left + right 2 unit cool.gif

Sifu please advice me out. I currently own m3300sf and i feel want to upgrade my speaker (budget 400 to 500). I currently using laptop realtek onboard sound card. It is better to upgrade external sound card and stick to m3300sf or buy c3? My primary usage is on music and movie and Prefer treble over bass. C3 or s33d better?
*
laptop can have good sound. Search for wasapi.
most significant upgrade is change ur speaker set. Ur overall experience will improve

2) AudioEngine A2+
3) Focal XS Book
4) DEFINITIVE TECHNOLOGY INCLINE
5) Edifier Spinnaker
6) Edifier E25
7) Acoustics Energy Aego M

I did, and yes I'm still upgrading. biggrin.gif wink.gif Take the risk on your own mate.

Heys guys just some quick questions, is it worth to top up another rm100 to get the c2x rather than m3300sf? How much is the c2x better?

Also what is the best way to test the speaker myself? Because i scared that listening in the shop might be different than listening in my room hmm.gif
*
the reason i dont like m33 is the tall shape subwoofer, hard to get good placement. a square one like c2x will be my choice, but of course given it dont overshoot ur budget.

many "expert" turn up loud, perhaps u should try that tongue.gif
ok, when i play multiple speakers at same time, all facing opposite direction. move around to hear the different.
use comfortable volume, flat eq (treble/bass knob at middle)

Hi all

Got maranta sr4500 pair with wharfedale diamond 8 (5.1)
Planning to change the speaker set to something smaller especially the surround as wharfedale 8.1 bookshelf is damn huge to be hang on the ceilings (no walls) on my new house.

Prefer smaller 1 that can hang on the ceiling. Any recommendation or shall I get a smaller speaker system?

Boston soundware xs or smaller range of Q-acoustic. can see price from sales section

I just bought the M3300SF and realized the bass is kinda weak. But most importantly, the vocals are too strong, covering up the instrumental alot, which wasn't really suitable for me sad.gif
Just wondering is there any other speaker that has a balance in all those 3? Was thinking of trying the S330 since many people recommend it. Any users can give advice on whether it will suit me?
If I can set to lower the vocals in the M3300SF that would be good, no need so much trouble laugh.gif
*
move the m33 to wall, port facing outside.
s33 is just 6.5" sub, which is same as m33

So the bass for the M3400 and P3080M is stronger than the M3300SF? For some reasons when I listen to the C3 i felt that its worse than the HCS2330, maybe that unit is faulty? hmm.gif
And yes, i made sure all speakers are off and the surrounding is silent before testing smile.gif
*

c3 on power is quite weak, dunno who recommend it to u yawn.gif

Also just wondering the HK soundstix is it good? And does it really worth the RM800 price?

forget about buying HK3, it is a gentle type speaker.
if you are curious about how it sounds, pls test at retail outlets

Ohh, so I should use my PC instead? Oh I see, I shall make those changes then. But I'm curios why some speakers dont have the woofer? Like the evo 7. It only has the tuned port (sorry I keep using evo 7 as example because thats the other speaker i have at home sweat.gif )

Also for those speaker with down firing woofer, do u mean their woofer at the bottom? Then wouldn't it be too close to the floor? I once own a Ego 3 and i think its those with down firing woofer hmm.gif
*

bandpass design, meaning the woofer is inside the box. using bass reflex theory to create big bass from small woofer.

down firing is woofer at bottom, may have port or no port.
it use solid surface (floor) to recreate bass reflex

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a 5.1 speaker system for my mini home theatre setup, after much research, it came down to the following 2 model:

Initially I was pretty much convinced to get the Logitech Z5500, but unfortunately it's discontinued. So I'm kinda hanging around between Edifier S550 and Logitech Z906.

FYI, I'm a bass head and will mainly use it to watch movie, second listen to music. So may I know which speaker would you recommend? And why?

I have a friend who suggested that always choose wood as speaker material, is it true? Will the plastic material for Z906 effect the sound quality? How about short term and long term?

Thank you in advance! wink.gif
*
being thx certified, 906 can go loud. But its not recommended for big room.
fibre optic port dolby & dts decoding ready, no need sound card

s550 analog input, u will need a good sound card

Thanks for the reply.
I'm going to port directly from TV, I don't think there's any sound card in the TV.
So in this case, I guess my best option between the 2 is Z906?

yup, thats it.
