Hi, personally prefer JBL brand and eyeing JBL speaker for a period of time, just curious if anyone own a JBL Creature 3 or JBL Spyro, can please share ur experience, how is their performance for these price range? Havent audit the speaker yet, what i see from google is the driver satellite of the spyro is much more smaller than the creature, but the price is higher, just doubt about the quality how it can perform with the tiny size driver T T.
*
I wouldn't recommend that two JBL speakers for their tiny profile.
The speakers are too tiny to perform properly
I would go for some HiVi speakers for that price

- Your rig: desktop, smartphone
- What type of usage: movies, games(less priority) musics
- File format used in your source: mp3 i guess...
- Genre of music you listen to: original sound track, jpop, emo rock (simple plan)
- Budget: probably RM400~700+
- Room size: quite small
- Currently dose not own a speaker, using Senheiser HD205

Very heavy pc user, sits infront of the pc most of the time

Have my eyes lays on SS siberia elite, but saw alot complaints on breakdown units and mic quality... currently debating on going for a headphone or speaker (am a collage student so renting room outside, dun wan to disturb housemate, so if i own a speaker i usually could turn them on during day time.)
*
Go for true hifi headphones and a separate mic if you're thinking bout headphones.
if not, for RM400 can get Edifier C3

QUOTE(imnick @ Mar 2 2014, 10:56 PM)
hii guys !!! im noob at those speaker thingy ..... so i needed the opinion as well

im currently finding a speaker for my freshly built pc which i used it for gaming .... my pc can support up to 5.1 channel speaker without any soundcard ....

so what i want to ask is which speaker you guys recommend to me ?
- my budget range +/- rm200
- mainly on gaming but also music also as well
- my speaker now is chicken branded speaker

thanks you guys in advance =)
*
There isn't enough money for a 5.1 setup so your only choice would be Edifier M3400 or Edifier E3100 for RM200

QUOTE(erszebeth @ Mar 2 2014, 05:43 PM)
Guys, i'm planning to get a 2.1 speaker setup. Mainly use for gaming. Planning to get z623, s330d or c3. Huhu.. Or perhaps c5 is worth the extra bucks?
My room size is estimated 4mx4m

Thanks in advance.
*
get the Z623 if you don't care about sound quality and all you want is bass alone.

S330D may sound too sharp to many customers so you might wanna beware.
C5 is just C3 with extra features like radio and such. Think about whether you need the features or not.

I would go for C3 as it is balanced and filled with potential for future

i also saw feel shop selling their 5.1 channel speaker and i also know that budget +/- rm200 is really not enough mostly also rm 500 - 700

but is that Edifier M3400 or Edifier E3100 is really quite nice for gaming with a budget of +/- rm200 ?

thank you again

yea.. i know that z623 mid sounds a bit muddy, not to mention the absence of tweeter.

Ah i see, sounds like C3 is a good choice for me then.

How's C3's bass compared to Z623? both sport 8" s/w right? I know that mid and high of c3 is clearly a winner here.

Thanks in advance.. smile.gif

I personally find those two are the only options best for RM200 be it gaming or music or movies.
There is the P3060 but I'd go for M3400 anytime

C3 bass is tight and accurate... which also leads to low bass volume
Z623 is a polar opposite of C3

Z623 has an odd 7" woofer while C3 has a standard 8" woofer

by size C3 wins, but by bass volume Z623 wins

Between Creative Inspire S2 (wired) and Logitech Z523, which would you recommend more? I would gladly buy Edifier speakers with separate tweeters, but where I live, I can't get them. So of all the available choices and within my current budget, I've narrowed it down to these two. I've been using Creative Inspire P380 for the past 10 or 11 years, so I'm looking for something that is similar to them in terms of sound quality/clarity. I just don't want a downgrade, and that's it. I use my computer for pretty much everything, music (mostly western classical, asian traditional, world music, game soundtracks), gaming and movies/tv shows, but what I value the most is clarity and sound detail, and when it comes to movies clarity of speech. So in general they don't need to be powerful, very loud, have an exaggerated bass for explosions etc.

I heard Z523 in a shop today; the bass seemed too heavy for those satellites, even when close to minimum, and my inspire seem to have a fuller, warmer sound. However I listen to them when sitting at the desk in my room, while the shop was quite huge, the file didn't seem to be very HQ and they weren't positioned well. S2 could be quite similar to my old ones (or maybe even somewhat better?).

I will get a hi fi system in the future, but since I need something asap, I'm getting one of these now, and will probably use them for the TV/consoles later on.

Btw what do you think of Creative Inspire T10?

Thanks in advance if anyone answers!

edit: I can also get creative inspire t3130, they're cheaper, while s2 and z523 have almost the same price.

Yeah the speakers are tiny and light weight, but they are powerful, i just own a jbl soundfly portable speaker, at first i think is tiny, but the sound is very loud and clear, i pair with ipad and just set the volume to 1 bar, imagine if u set to full, sure neighbour will kacao u kao kao (very impressive), and honestly, the sound quality imo beat my corsair sp2500 (forget about the bass), so now thinking to own a JBL computer speaker, i like the tiny design but give powerful performance.

no hates on jbl quality but I heard that the speaker foam deteriorates quick. Do take good care of your speakers

Any thoughts for Edifier C3 compared with Edifier S530D? Thinking of grabbing DA5000 Pro, but I afraid will not perform really good in music department.

Hi, looking for a speaker within the range of Rm300-Rm400. Usage mainly for movies, music and games. Mostly games and movies. Prefer those that you can set the bass and have a good clarity.

Thanks.
*
Try Edifier HC2330, and for a little more than RM400 can try Edifier C3... wink.gif

QUOTE(holoman @ Feb 23 2014, 03:51 PM)
altec lansing out of quality now a day
not like before,RM 2xx produce crap sound ( bass )
btw, for budget 250-350, what  speaker can i get ?
yesterday go survey around, found this brand, eacan, sound good ..
price is 250 for normal one and 320 with sound remote ( have usb port for music play)
but forget what model is it ..

is there any other model within my budget ?
use it for gaming, movie and music

*
Currently not familiar with the Eacan range of speakers, but you may want to look at candidates such as Edifier M3300SF and Edifier HC2330... hmm.gif

Do not expect good bass from the Creature thingy, and clarity-wise isn't that impressive. And as another forummer here mentioned, these tiny JBL drivers (usually called "Odyssey") tend to degrade especially the surround foam. Seen quite a number of this problem already, even on their other portable speakers... sweat.gif

How good is DA5100? But too pricey. RM 900. doh.gif BTW from your review, seems like S530D bass can't keep up with the beat. Does this happen with C3 too? Thinking of getting S530D but the bass lag been pulling me back.

From SP 2500, jump to Edifier C3 a smart move or not? SP2500 consume too much space, and the bass not my liking, too boomy. Is there any way to mess with EQ so I can add more impact to the bass. Well, it's good for game and movie but music, I prefer accurate C3 bass. Gosh, my eardrum upgrading after spending time with head-fi. sweat.gif Fussy, even with bass.

personally haven't tested DA5100 yet.

S530D is indeed slow to my preference but I'd still think you should try it out first (probably I'm too fussy lol)

SP2500 to C3 sounds like a downgrade to me.
I couldn't compare because I forgot how SP2500 sounds but if impact is what you need... maybe a 2.0 setup rather than a 2.1? like the Edifier R2600?

Yeah bass is not my concern, previously own a logitech z2300, the bass is too boomy to me (make me headache) and jump ship to corsair sp2500 after 1 year. By the time i also have a good try with edifier speaker, and i always recommend my friend to buy this brand if budget tight, i just prefer the harman design, i regret not to choose harman kardon sound stick 3 instead of corsair speaker sad.gif as i know, harman speaker got good rated about the performance and design as well. Now the JBL is also from harman (i assume it got the same quality with h. Kardon speaker), think of giving it a try but like u say, the speaker not worth the money. Honestly i like the design of harman speaker, also eyeing the JBL sound bar but a little bit costy compared to other brand. Btw the JBL soundfly really inpressed me very much, hope it wont give me trouble in future.

SP2500 bass are rumbling, not punching... Mids and high are okay. Nothing to expect from a gaming speaker. They're loud, but can be fatiguing. How about those JBL speaker. You think they got enough bass? R2600 too large for my desk even though I like 2.0 idea.

How about Edifier e25, the winner of IF design award? A 2.2 speaker and courier to Sarawak will cost around RM50, if I m not mistaken.

didn't like the JBL too much as the bass tends to try too hard. (c'mon... 3 incher forcing itself to be an 8 incher)

you could always go for some HiVi D1010-iv and pair it with your corsair woofer lol (or just ignore the corsair set and go for D1080-iv)
Though I dunno how small the HiVi is but yea... can try

if not the R1900Tiii kinda okay though

Edit: didn't see that you're from sarawak, but I hope you could try out though sad.gif

thanks a lot for the recommendation. I've decided to jack up a bit my fund for speakers to around 700~800.

now my options would be Corsair SP2500, HK SS III and Edifier S530D. please advice on which speakers setup is the best as I've only listened to HK SS III demo unit, so i dont know how the other sounds like. its really hard to find those speakers at my place here.

thanks in advance
