Hi, personally prefer JBL brand and eyeing JBL speaker for a period of time, just curious if anyone own a JBL Creature 3 or JBL Spyro, can please share ur experience, how is their performance for these price range? Havent audit the speaker yet, what i see from google is the driver satellite of the spyro is much more smaller than the creature, but the price is higher, just doubt about the quality how it can perform with the tiny size driver T T.

I wouldn't recommend that two JBL speakers for their tiny profile.
The speakers are too tiny to perform properly
I would go for some HiVi speakers for that price

*
Yeah the speakers are tiny and light weight, but they are powerful, i just own a jbl soundfly portable speaker, at first i think is tiny, but the sound is very loud and clear, i pair with ipad and just set the volume to 1 bar, imagine if u set to full, sure neighbour will kacao u kao kao (very impressive), and honestly, the sound quality imo beat my corsair sp2500 (forget about the bass), so now thinking to own a JBL computer speaker, i like the tiny design but give powerful performance.

Do not expect good bass from the Creature thingy, and clarity-wise isn't that impressive. And as another forummer here mentioned, these tiny JBL drivers (usually called "Odyssey") tend to degrade especially the surround foam. Seen quite a number of this problem already, even on their other portable speakers... sweat.gif
*
Yeah bass is not my concern, previously own a logitech z2300, the bass is too boomy to me (make me headache) and jump ship to corsair sp2500 after 1 year. By the time i also have a good try with edifier speaker, and i always recommend my friend to buy this brand if budget tight, i just prefer the harman design, i regret not to choose harman kardon sound stick 3 instead of corsair speaker sad.gif as i know, harman speaker got good rated about the performance and design as well. Now the JBL is also from harman (i assume it got the same quality with h. Kardon speaker), think of giving it a try but like u say, the speaker not worth the money. Honestly i like the design of harman speaker, also eyeing the JBL sound bar but a little bit costy compared to other brand. Btw the JBL soundfly really inpressed me very much, hope it wont give me trouble in future.

Hi,is it worth from corsair sp2500 upgrade to hk sound stick iii? Or any other pc speaker can beat sp2500? 60% music, 30% gaming, 10% movie.

I heard that SP2500 is not so great in listen music, but for gaming and movie, yes!!!
*
Lol from sp2500 to hkssiii sounds like downgrade like? 200w vs 60w. But since my major is for music, the clarity and smoothness is more important right? Of course the ss base dont disappoint me lar. Going to get soon.

i wanted to get a speaker for my (soon-to-get) tv in apartment living room

usage will be watching tv show/anime/movie (no astro) 33%, gaming 33%, music (mostly pop, jpop, OST, and others) 33%

getting a home theatre system is better or PC speaker is better?
personally i favour PC speaker more

budget is about 400-800 max
any recommendation?

thanks smile.gif

listened to a few soundbar in senheng/senq, i personally dont think the price can justify the result smile.gif
nowadays mostly are 5.1
and my contents are >90% stereo only
you're using what spekaer?
read your review on R2800, so heavy sweat.gif
postage would cost a lot if buy from garage sales
i went to the shop near my place, saw S530D
not sure about R2800, have to go there check again

what about soundstick iii? any comment?
i listened to my friend's one, quite good
*
Yeah i just got my hkssiii, still testing. Need 200 hours for her to warm up. First impression is, sound is great, bass is not that kind of shaking table and room, good for music for pc user, not recommend for long distance. Get edifier s530 or 730, and for the sound bar, i will recommend JBL SB400 tongue.gif

will try to test the S2800 and S530 at the store
ah, i see
but my friend use his soudstick iii with TV hmm.gif
JBL SB400 costs about 3k right? hmm.gif
*
I think for movie u need more powerful bass, if budget allow, prefer edifier S730 over logitect, previously own sonicgear enzo6000 > logitect z2300 > corsair sp2500 > hkssiii (currently still testing). Sonicgear all suck, logitect not vood for music, corsair is good for both, hkssiii music sound is just better. And my housemate using s530, will definitely impress u if u are a basshead tongue.gif

Yeah the jbl sb400 is about 3k, my dream speaker lol...

I tot altec lansing quality not as good as before, my housemate own an altec lansing (signature model, dotn know what model) spoilt less than a year, luckily got a replacement smile.gif and the bass too boomy, not good for music, the charity not as good as edifier / sp2500.

Since you stated Harman brand or Edifier, which 1 do you recommend ?

Laptop consider stereo source?
*
Never try jbl creature iii, but edifier sure wont disappoint u. Personally, i like harman unique design, small but powerful!

Yes, better go for 2.1 for laptop. 5.1 look too messy.

U mean second hand? If u play games or movie is priority, then go for it, if for music wise, still edifier better, this edifier model HCS2330 i think rn200++ new set.

i say that jbl speaker is this

Lol i think that one is harman kardon sound sticks 3, harman is a good brand, using hkssiii and jbl soundfly right now, small but powerful speaker, good for music.
My opinion hkssiii vs edifier 530, sound charity i vote hkssiii, bass of course 530 win kao kao.

1st speaker - sonic gear 5.1 enzo 6000, totally suck speaker, dont try sonic gear anymore
2nd speaker - logitech z230, bass too boomy, vocal sound a bit deep (like low treble), not my type
3rd speaker - corsair sp2500, overall good speaker for music and movie, this speaker can go very very loud
4th speaker - jbl soundfly, just bought it to pair with ipad, this tiny bluetooth speaker is just amazed me, sound dont lose to any popular speaker, just it lack of bass.
5th speaker - hkssiii, i can say this is the best of 4, i always listen to music, this speaker just small and nice and have a very unique design.

For desktop better use 2.1, 5.1 is too messy and not actually good for music.

Philips fidelio e5 has a good design but no center channel.  I have yet listen to any of speakers but most likely i'll skip the z906 as the speaker cases are plastic.
Any other brand that i should be looking also?

Yes dont try logitect i beg u. If 2.1 i will recommend bose companion 5 very nice smile.gif
