Alexander Buttner has described the “incredible feeling” of scoring at Old Trafford on Saturday against Wigan Athletic.

Buttner himself said:


“Rene Meulensteen told me on Friday that I would play and must do my thing. Just before the kick off Mr Ferguson told me to enjoy it and that I could do it”

“I entered the field with very heavy legs. The atmosphere was beautiful, but 80,000 people very close to the pitch also gave me some tension. I have never had something like that before.”

“I received the ball from Ryan Giggs and fired at goal. I think it also was a goal if Javier Hernandez didn’t touch it”

Buttner on scoring on his debut:


“I got the ball, went past three defenders and fired hard on goal, If it was a mistake by the goalkeeper? That doesn’t matter. Out of nothing 80,000 people were cheering for me. It was an incredible feeling. ”

“After the match Mr Ferguson told me he was proud. I was honoured as man of the match and got a magnum bottle of champagne.”

“Before the match Robin predicted my goal and assist.”

Buttner even made it to the Eurosport European Team of the week.

Fabio Da Silva was substituted on Saturday for Queens Park Rangers in their 0-0 draw with Chelsea after just 20 minutes.

Mark Hughes has confirmed that Fabio has indeed pulled his hamstring, he had this to say on the clubs official website:

“Fabio has pulled his hamstring and will be out for a number of weeks, Which is a blow for us.”

Nick Powell has vowed not to get carried away after his debut goal for Manchester United against Wigan Athletic at the weekend.

He has vowed that he will stay grounded and not let the limelight got to his head, speaking with MUTV he said:

“My dad will keep me in touch, I’ll tell you that, When I first came on it scared me a little bit, to be fair, because I’m only used to 5,000 people now and then, but it’s a great atmosphere – the fans are great. It wasn’t the hardest game because they made it easier for me but I’m happy to be on the pitch getting minutes.”

Hi Redcafe, I'm a Galatasaray fan who has some insight into Gala for you.

After finishing 8th in the 2010/2011 season coach Fatih Terim took over and had us finish 9 points ahead of Fenerbahce last season, there was a one off play off system between the top 4 but we still won the league after having our points halved and playing 6 more games. Erm.... I don't think so. His assist seemd like it was going to go wide unless it had some reverse spin and had struck the ground and spun back towards goal.

I'm already waiting for Galatasaray to come.
