I'm just amazed it took this long.

Here's what Xabi Alonso posted on twitter.

"At least, the truth came out after 23 years. The dignity and respect of the families of Hillsborough was always an example #JFT96".

Whenever sporting disasters happen, more often than not, it was caused by negligence. The people in charge of that fateful match, those who could have prevented the Hillsborough incident are responsible, they should be punished. And those that could have been saved were left to die after 3.15 pm cutoff, just like that, really? What's even worst is that the authorities covered it all up and blamed the dead. It was absolutely disgraceful. How could they sleep at night, I wonder? All those policemen, all those involve, how could they have stayed silence for 23 years without an ounce of guilt? Are they even human? I'm glad the truth is out now. Apologies are all good, but what are words worth? They can't take away the pain of the familiies of the 96 who suffered and fought for 23 years. The Sun can take their apologies and stick it where the sun don't shine. I for one will never forgive them for printing those lies, I don't believe that Kelvin MacKenzie is even sincere in his apology. What I want to see is justice, people who are involved in the cover up and spreading of the lies must be prosecuted. They must be punished. JFT 96. YNWA.

while i know the event all these while, i have never taken time to read about the details..
it's really a sad event, for humankind, not only football world...

QUOTE
Jon-Paul Gilhooley, cousin of current Liverpool F.C. captain Steven Gerrard, was the youngest person to die at Hillsborough, aged 10. Gerrard has stated that it was this tragedy that inspired him to lead his boyhood team and reach the heights of his career.[28]

this make me more respect on him, in addition to the respect i've already have for him....

At last, closure to the families of the 96.

The police chief and The Sh*trag editor should be prosecuted in court for lies and defamation.

Class act from Alonso. A gentlemen first, great footballer second.

I want justice for those police who gave false reports. Maybe death sentence.

I dont understand how it will impact her Government at that time. She warned her Home Secretary against welcoming the report saying that it creates "devastating criticism".

Maybe 23 years later, we will also learn of the truth of the death of a pretty Mongolian girl in our country as well. Too little, too late.

I'm not surprised by it at all. She abandoned the city of Liverpool and left it to rot, when the merseyside took a stand against her policy that neglected the poor. It's no coincidence that the Yorksire police, who she used extensively to quell the mining strike, were absolved from any blame in the aftermath of the Hillsborough disaster. She's by no means a popular figure in Merseyside, and the hatred towards her runs deep.

broad blanket blame. easy for them. it just covers up the lack of awareness & preparation of those responsible.

Justice will not be fully served if they never learn from this. anyone can do lip service. Pointing fingers may be 23 years too late, but authorities need to realise and learn from it.
The affected families can put rest of their pursuit. Moving on but staying committed to the cause of the victims would be the best memories.

They say LiverpoolFc is always talking of the past, but it is the past that builds one's character. The fan's stay honest & loyal because this club is simply unique.

Question is: Are those people still around?
