:/ that's weird.. AC3 is lagging a bit for me... I mean, I didn't ran it on all high settings, just tweaked it according to the recommended settings by Geforce Experience.. but the lag happens after i play the game about an hour or so...  hmm.gif
*
no lag for me. lol. ur playing a 2012 game. u spam ultra high also should be no lag. but just fyi. SLI cards are known to give frame stuttering below 30fps. becoz ur running 2 at the same time. still the lag shouldnt affect your gameplay.

keep playing bro. test with more games. dont just test with AC3. if you find that you still lag after 1hour. then u best reformat.

tips to reduce heat:

1. play in a aircond room
2. get a cooler pad that raises your laptop 10degrees up.
3. dont play in enclosed area
4. dont block your air vents
5. dont put your laptop on the bed or fabric or any cloth
6. for laptops with input air vent below (y500 ). you need to raise up your laptop abit.

hope it helps

Hurm, only AC3 is lagging2 a bit, but only after i play like an hour or 2 into the game... other games like Sleeping Dogs, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Sniper Elite v2 are ok! thumbup.gif

However, my other games (Tomb Raider, NFS: The Run, and Batman Arkham City) are facing issues as i know (from forums) that these games are not yet optimized correctly to work with SLI..... doh.gif

Btw, ur tips on reduce heat is true... but the 1st is absolutely impossibru for me as my house no AC cry.gif
still no money to buy cooler pad for my lappy (btw, it's hard to find a cooling pad with suitable size with my lappy)... i also NEVER played my lappy on beds like stated in number 5 laugh.gif

But for tips number 3,4, and 6 are a must try for me.. Thx for the tips!!!! biggrin.gif

for y500. Cooler master Notepal U3 fits just nice. to me that's the best cooler for y500. the holes on the cooler pad allows the air vent below to suck in enough cool air. and it has 3 fans which you can remove. and it raises the laptop higher. u can get it around rm75.

I got no problems with arkham city. finished riddlers riddle. 282/282 . disable Direct X 11 when playing arkham city bro.

keep testing la. should have no problems with 2013 games. try Metro Last light. that game requires high graphics requirement. I played that for 4hrs non stop. no lag.

I would suggest do away with the 1T 5400rpm hardisk, one of the most useless hardware of the notebook.

seem like HWmonitor won't show any temperature for SSD and MOBO reading.

any thought guys ?

Planning to get a budget gaming laptop after kena samun last week. Laptop,HDD,cash, games and gamepad all gone so can't spend too much.

Hoping to get the Y400 free DOS version as that falls into my budget. Unfortunately I can't afford the upcoming Y410.

So those of you who have got it is it worth it? U can also add a GT750M to the Y400 right? Does it really have such a significant impact on performance?

Thank u very much biggrin.gif

Hmmm rm75? hmm.gif guess i'll have to wait then.. i don't think there's any of that here at Sabah doh.gif

Btw, Metro Last Light I haven't bought yet... Arkham City is actually nice game, but I dunno why it has some stuttering (forum ppl say is common issue for the game, nid to patch it or update driver) ... but since I finished it many-many times oredy on my desktop pc, i just leave the game here on my lappy (just leave the game there for show off icon_rolleyes.gif ) btw, i oredy tweaked the settings like disabling dx11, but still problem persist.. sweat.gif

Btw, the Amazing Spider-Man is also suffering from stuttering.. and this is also said to be a common problem for the game as it is poorly optimized.. shakehead.gif

hi guys,

I want to know how good is lenovo y410p compare to y400? since now only need to topup about 2hundred to get y410p so might consider it if it really worth it.

I understand that y410p got a faster cpu but does it really affect gaming? as ivy bridge is strong enough already.

Hi guys I'm really close to buy the Y410 or Y500 but I read the reviews on Lenovo US page for the reviews and comments, everyone is complaining about the wifi connectivity that it gets disconnected very frequently. Could any owners of Y400,Y410 and Y500 clarify on this??

Been using y400 for a couple of weeks solely using wireless connection, so far did not encounter any instability of the wireless connection.

What drivers are 650M SLI users using for y500? I am still stuck with 310.90, haven't been updating it as the latest 320.18 seems to have problems? What is the Nvidia version of the driver available on Lenovo's website?

Also I had this problem when using VGA port during a presentation and the driver crashed. Anyone else faced similar problems?

Actually, the complaints on wifi problem does exist, but this is ONLY TRUE for the old y400/y500 version (with gt650M graphics card).. My laptop is the new GT750M SLI variant of y500, been having it for 3 weeks+++, no internet problem whatsoever thumbup.gif

Hey guys, sorry for the potentially stupid question, but how much will the Y510P be here in Malaysia? And when will it be available in stores?
