Hello all! Firstly, I want to thank all the users who had commented on this thread, and kudos to the creator of this post @ytlay .

I'm proud to say that I'm the owner of the new Lenovo Y500 with GT750M SLI variant. I bought this babe a week ago from @Devour. A very good and recommended seller indeed!

After reading all 100++ pages of this thread, and with all the info about the pros and cons of this laptop, I've finally decided to buy it! And for this, I'm going to give some info as well to those who want to buy this laptop, but still have some doubts.

Well, this new "reborn" version has no touchpad issues whatsoever, except that when I tried left-clicking or right-clicking it, the touchpad bends as if it's going to break! Maybe it's because my hands aren't used to laptops yet.

The WiFi problem? None faced here Played my online games with no dc, downloaded some movies and no dc as well!

As for the gaming performance, I tried running only a few: Assassin's Creed III, Batman Arkham City, Sniper Elite V2, Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider, Warcraft III- Frozen Throne, and Neverwinter Online. At first I ran all those games in High and Ultra settings, it's quite nice actually , but I noticed that the laptop gets hot fast (I play it in a room without air-conditioner and no cooling pad) especially around the onboard graphics part. Well, this is true when I'm playing Neverwinter and Tomb Raider as these games still doesn't support SLI correctly so it stresses out only the onboard graphic card, but that's only my opinion But after testing the max-settings, I tweaked it a little so it's not to over-demanding on my laptop, but still looks gorgeous!

What I really want to highlight about this laptop is it's speakers. This small JBL speaker doesn't packs a punch. IT ROARS To be honest, I only set the volume around 36 to 45, never above 50 as it's quite loud already

Even though the laptop is heavy for most people, but it's quite bearable with me as I'm a big guy

The battery-life however still remains the same. Full charge lasts for only 3 hours. *sighs*

All in all, I'm glad I bought this laptop. It's worth the money paid!

P/S: Sorry but I won't do any stress-test (Fumark, 3Dmark, etc..) whatsoever as I don't want to stress my new baby and I'm quite a lazy downloader.

Actually, that's a standard shut down for this laptop.. I just bought it a few weeks ago, and everytime I shut it down, the lights from the back-lit keyboard remained on for a few moment... but I just closed the laptop as i know that it's already shut down.. just let it be..

As I said, it took a few moments, means a few minutes or so.. what u mean it restart? I do this often, when I open the next day, everything's still ok...

Sorry, but i'm still confused with ur words. Are u trying to say that, if u put ur lappy to sleep mode, when u wake it up, it shuts down and restarts? If that's the case, then something is wrong with ur laptop.

For my laptop, when i put to sleep mode, when i wake it up (press space bar), it brings me to the log-in screen, and session resume as normal... u should contact the lenovo customer service and adress ur problem to them, or better yet, bring ur laptop to a lenovo authorized reseller and tell them the prob.. this problem is applicable in their warranty, so no need to frust... they will either fix ur laptop or replace it with new one

Word of advice bro, it's better not to buy an imported set, no matter what the price is. Warranty issue is such a hassle nowadays bro. Most laptops are not perfect, so if u are unlucky, the laptop u buy could be a bad egg (has some damage,software problems, hardware problems, etc). So if this happens, and u try to claim warranty, u won't get it.. UNLESS the reseller provide u with an original & official receipt, then it's okay. Ask the sifus here if u want to know more on this "original & official receipt" for imported set, as this thing is important for almost any imported products (including mobile phones like Apple, Samsung etc).

if u reinstall windows, u risk losing OneKey function bro..

Hurmm... I'm not sure, but if i'm not mistaken, someone commented on this forum that reinstalling win8 had problems with their onekey function.. I'm not so sure, maybe it's my mistake hahaha

But if it's shutting down problem and pc restarts, i dont think it concerns windows ler.... well, it's just my opinion.. I'm not expert, so hopefully the sifus here can share their thoughts
