Basically the whole point of getting a Lenovo Y500/400 is because you want a gaming monster but you have a tight budget, so things like disabled Nvidia Optimus, heating problems, touchpad faultiness is expected, if you want to get a proper gaming laptop, your budget must be at least RM6000, you guys better look elsewhere rather than the Y series of Lenovo.

QUOTE(vNirvana @ May 11 2013, 01:59 PM) sigh, have been waiting for the Y500 for the past month and until now still havent launch in MY. Now, lemmie do a price breakdown for you here, assuming that we're comparing both the w8 model not FreeDOSalready got the budget got Y500 Wondering should I just get a Y400 and then use the remaining budget to do the upgrade ? Any advice from all the sifus here? Y400, i7-3630QM, GT750M(GDDR5)@RM2799, 4GB, 500GB, W8, red backlit, 120w psu, ODD (swappable), 2 yrs warranty +RM229 (170 w Adapter)+ RM 99 (Good RAM Card)+ RM580 (GT750m graphics assuming that it is the same price) = it adds up to RM3707 Next we take the Y500, i7-3630QM + GT750M(GDDR5) + 1920x1080@RM3899, 8GB , 1TB , W8, red backlit, swappable GN37 exGPU & ODD, 120w+170w psu, 2 yrs = RM3899 The difference between these is RM192 more for a 1) larger screen 2) more storage space 3) less likely heating problems 4) most likely resolved touchpad problems All for an extra price of RM192, I'd think the verdict is clear here. |

QUOTE(nexus2238 @ May 12 2013, 06:16 PM) Huh? The GT650M SLI was one of the most sought after gaming laptop Lol the Lenovo shop fella said that most of the customers looking for the Y580 instead of the 500Am just glad now that the latest Y500 will come with both GT750M and GT750M SLI spec. More choices are always better for consumers |
