Just gotten the Y410p and I think the Nvidia optimus technology is enabled as my device manager shows HD4600 graphic too

From US web it had 2 type of screen resolution

But i not sure M'sia will had both or not sad.gif

Looking at it, it probably does have Optimus enabled. tongue.gif

Reason I think it has - It seems that I am able to encode videos using Quick Sync. Doing so with my Y500 crashed the program.

Yep, confirm got Optimus based on my tests.

I don't think so. Y400 and Y500 didn't have Optimus because it wasn't wired for Optimus.

Saw from another forum, if on SLI mode, optimus will disable.

Only single card, the internal GC will show on device management.

But actual, how its work need waiting buyer giving review smile.gif

Why our Y400/Y500 don't have Optimus??
not that we use SLI all the time (not for me)

Yep. Took the shine right off my Y500. Powerful as it is, having Optimus mostly meant better battery life - and the occasional experimentation with Quick Sync. Had the single card Y500 and it still doesn't have Optimus.

Imagine my surprise when the Y410p had it. Even tested out the latest Quick Sync software and Y410 had no problem handling it.

if Y500, i don't mind coz most of Y500 sold together with extra GPU..
but for Y400, we didn't have extra GPU for GT750M..i never saw it.. <<correct me if i'm wrong~
thus, no SLI for Y400 (GT750M only coz GT650M extra GPU)..

also no Optimus!!! i rely on Optimus if wanna saves more battery cry.gif
