I think the fe is called atp( tech pro), if you are based in kemaman, you'll be in heaven ( for completion segment, dont know about other segment), as per training, slb is better and more structured, pay wise smaller compare to other service company, but still higher compare to other, and you'll have your weekend,

He chose intecsea instead of sbm last time because Intecsea wanted him to start asap. Thanks for the info, I'll let him know on sapurakencana.
Haha. Gonna see you around in ksb then. Next destination is Egypt but for training only. I'm gonna be based in kemaman for years.. zzz

I'm looking for one too...btw heriot-watt having distance study using internet all this while, but I do not prefer this way, I prefer attending physical classes with real lecturers..

I've emailed heriot-watt not too long ago, and they told me that Msc in PE will be offered in its msia campus putrajaya in late 2013...I don't know you aware or not, heriot-watt have a branch campus in msia besides in dubai...and the new campus will be ready in 2013..

for other options, you can try UTM or UTP. UTM classes are held during weekends at KL..classes are from 8 am to 5 pm every weekends sat and sun. LoL so you'll be needing lots of discipline ...the fees is around 15k-20k for the whole course..cheapest option...and most of my colleagues are taking it in utm smile.gif

Herriot-Watt is an excellent University for PE but as you have already mentioned, they are expensive. Imperial is insanely expensive. Most people whi went there are usually sponsored by the companies to get their Masters or PhD.

HW will be opening the branch in Malaysia (Putrajaya) soon. They won a bid to operate the building which was built by Khazanah overlooking the Putrajaya Lake earlier this year. The builiding is almost complete and I think they will start with the business school and maybe some engineering discipline, but not sure about PE.

What is that? Santa Claus university? Sorry, it's the time of year heh heh heh ..... I got my degree a loooooong time ago and in pure geology summore and not petroleum geology. I always say that you'll probably use 10% of what you learn in the Uni. When I graduated, UTP doesn't even exist yet heh heh heh.

Hello forumners,

i would like to seek your generous advices and solutions as I am very mentally demotivated and honestly saying sometimes up the extend of very extreme sad.. To explain my situation, I start from this.

I am graduated with a degree in Applied Geology. All this time my dream of working is working in the oil and gas industry. BUt first of all, I obtain a job as a geologist in one of the Geotechical company. After working for like 6 months, I receive a phone call from a mud-logging company (oil and gas). So i went for the interview and pass the interview and got the job as Trainee mud-logger, so i resign from my previous geologist position. However, things dont go really well from that point. So being in a Trainee Mud-logger, we have to pass the offshore medical checkup which i did not pass due to my hereditary diseases pass down by my family (I know my disease when I am small). But the company is very lenient to still employ me but promise me there be an onshore job (international based) in Sept. When the month come, it is then postponed to Nov/ Dec (informed by email). When i asked again, it is once more postponed again to next year 2013 (could be Feb, March or even April) which of course not sure also.

So more to say I am employed with no progress and experiences and stucked for like how long already. I been trying to apply to any oil and gas companies even geotechnical and i dont even mind to start working as technical assistant or document controller or etc.. As long as the companies willing to give me the opportunity and I will surely learn.. But which really angers me that each companies want experiences.. all want experiences and not even wanna a phone call for me to interview me or perhaps to understand my situation.. I am so demotivated and sad.. I know perhaps is a lesson for me and i regret it.. life is a learning, so that we can grow up.. What should I do now, my fellow forumners?

(If you think no such situation exist and dont wanna to believe, you can choose not to believe. But is the true fact and I am experiencing it now.. and having a hard time already.. )

Thank you for your advices and understanding, my fellow forumners..

(For confidential and safety purposes, all the companies I keep it confidential)

Sad to hear that, however take as lesson learnt..life must goes on...sometimes we cant get whatever we think. think positively and start looking around the job, however you need to keep patient and try to learn something at least from this company. It is not necessary to learnt whatever you think, it is important at least to learn behind your thinking.
