Please forgive if I ask lame questions.
Dear sifus,
Why does everyone mostly talk about upstream career prospect? How about downstream processing?
Can I move to upstream if I started my career at downstream processing as a process engineer?

Hi all, i recently got a call from baker hughes telling me that i've been shorlisted for employment. But before they can give me an official offer letter, they have to do a back ground check on me which will be done by red flag screening or C6. Usually, how long will this screening process takes? Anyone here experienced it before?

I've applied for Halliburton several times before but no luck. This is my second time applying for Baker. Applied on 10/09 and a couple of hours later got an interview through phone, a couple of days later went for interview at their office, last week i was told that i've been shortlisted for employment and just now got
confirmation and offer letter through email.

general rule of thumb, whenever someone ask for a money in exchange for a job,it is most probably a scam.

Guys, I apparently need to do MBOSET despite being employed for a position that doesnt need to go off shore to function. My boss wants "everyone to experience what its like out there" by the end of the year and I'm signed up for a training session by end of Oct at Kemaman.

I cant swim, will it be a problem?

it won't be a problem,in fact a lot offshore worker don't know how to swim, including me and there will be enough personnel/divers who will take care of the course participants during sea survival,HUET,etc

I've asked around the office, some say it's inflatable while others say it's not. Have you heard this before?

depends on which training center u attend for this course,I have done it twice in Malaysia ,I was given an inflatable ones during both of the course(for HUET at least),I just remember u need the EBA(emergency breathing apparatus). EBA as far as I know only comes with the inflatable life jacket.
