Well, I sent an email to Elop and got a reply from someone in charge of Pan. Asia.

QUOTE
My name is Vlasta Berka and I’m responsible for Nokia business across Pan Asia. Stephen has share with me your concerns in note bellow.

Thank you very much for your note and your interest in the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820. I really appreciate you taking the time to get in touch. I certainly sense your passion and interest in the Nokia Lumia 920 and feel privileged by it!

First of all, my apologies you were not able to find detail you were looking for. Our rollout strategy is based on bringing products to market when we have the right products, infrastructure, ecosystem, business partners and Nokia Care support in place to deliver the best possible local experience for consumers. Relevant local consumer experience has always been one of our key priorities in the pass and I believe it needs to continue to be so. Specifically for Malaysia, we will be able to share relevant dates very soon with first shipments shortly thereafter.

You have also raised question in regards to our ongoing support for Lumia 900. The Lumia 900 will continue to be integral part of our range and Nokia offering to consumers. As we shared earlier, Nokia will continue to support and improve the experiences currently available on existing Lumia range. The Lumia 900 will receive an update called Windows Phone 7.8 which will include the most significant visual element of Windows Phone 8: the new start screen with different live tile sizes. The current line of Lumia will also receive a pattern of updates from Nokia that will deliver new features like wifi tethering, flip-to-silence and media content streaming. Nokia is also introducing new applications like Camera Extras exclusively for the Lumia range, games from Zynga, the makers of Farmville, as well as updates to Drive and other cool experiences. These updates are in addition to the new features coming in Windows Phone 7.8 and will be rolled out globally.

I hope you find this information useful and most of all thank you for your support of Nokia. I really appreciate your interest in Nokia Lumia offering and the effort you went to highlighting the need for additional visibility and detail on availability in Malaysia. I will be in touch soon to share more detail.

Best regards,
Vlasta

I think you folks should disconnect yourself from the Internet world for couple of weeks or at least this thread to be specific so that you'll look into something different like how to move the country forward instead of driving yourself nuts on the release of this phone. (Perhaps push the accessories seller to get more accessories for Lumia 920/HTC 8X?) laugh.gif

You'll get your hands on the phone but definitely not here, not right now. sweat.gif

The wifi is so strong as it still have coverage to my office wifi at 3rd floor when I am at the lobby ground floor, whereby my iPhone 5 & Note 2 wifi connection had already been disconnected with the same office wifi network

Here's a review from UberGizmo, notice the note regarding turning GPS off to get better battery performance.

http://www.ubergizmo.com/2012/11/nokia-lumia-920-review/

Apparently the GPS is turned on system wide if you answer Yes to a request for location based service instead of App by App basis and also instead of turning on location service (GPS) when the app requires it.

(my poor) translation: Nokia Store (MY) worker said that now they having training for upcoming Windows Phone and new Lumia devices. Usually the training finish in 1 month followed by launching of product. Lumia 920 might launch in Malaysia before Christmas. Still rumours. Better wait for official confirmation from Nokia Malaysia. hmm.gif
