Ermm I would say if they want to run away from us, u can hardly catch em.. I was told by one of our senior trainers from Pet N You, his Border Collie was playing with a Silky Terrier, the Silky out run the Border Collie 5 to 1.. the silky was like a flying bullet. I think JRT are nonetheless, just look at Groovy, that bugger practically floats in the air. If anybody take the time to watch The Incredible Dog Show on ESPN, then they should have d idea about how JRT rules the dog sport. rclxms.gif

Tq vino n ray for sharing d pics, appreciate it. icon_rolleyes.gif

He made d spread jump in his 1st run but as u hv correctly noticed, he was short in his 2nd run n clipped d last bar. Actually the organisers forgot to replace d jump for mini class during his run, n d spread jump u c in pic is for maxi dogs. Mini dogs only have to negotiate a lower spread jump.

If u guys come down to PJ, feel free to drop by d PetnYou training grounds and will show u d ropes. Success rate for JRTs in agility sport is fairly good. So far, out of 5 JRTs who hv come to our grounds, 4 can perform all obstacles reasonably well ... including Jenn77's Shadow.

Hi there... any tips on having a jack russell in an apartment environment? I do have concerns that she won't have enough space to use up all that energy of hers but the breeder told me she'll do fine coz her size is the smallest she's seen...

cool2.gif Apartment living not quite a JRT's cuppa of tea. However, if u r willing to put in the time n effort to play, exercise n train ur JRT, then mayb possible but won't b easy. This means bringing ur JRT out for walks, runs n play at least for an hr each day. If u cn manage lunch time visits at home, all d better.

Not enuf exercise n they will get bored n start looking for things to do eg. chew ur furniture, shoes, scratch, dig n even perform houdini acts ie. escape from home.

They really do hv a lot of energy to burn ... don't underestimate them. flex.gif

From my personal experience, dogs are more close to humans then to other dogs, means they choose us as their companion more than other dogs. So I think what ur JRT need is actually more human attention. tongue.gif

ya i know my JRT love me very much, and i do spend a lot of time playing with him! but i can play wrestling with him like he and my friend's JRT, and he seems like miss my fiend's JRT very much, everytime i call "kiki" he will ever respond happily and look at the door, so i think he really need a JRT as a companion. i have tried get other puppies to play with him, but seems he dont enjoy it like when he play with Kiki. i got another poodle is even worse, so weak some times my JRT push it a bit also scream like somebody killing her... rclxub.gif

so conclusion, it needs a JRT tongue.gif
