Hi, i've got a problem and I need help.

When I connect my laptop(Asus K42J) to my monitor(Philips 274E5) using a HDMI cable my mouse lags on the monitor however it works fine when I connect it using a VGA cable.

Does anyone know why and have a solution?

Thanks.
*
if you confirm VGA cable works fine, then this is driver issue. please download your Philips monitor HDMI driver and install, to fix the mouse lags issue.

Updated the drivers but my mouse still lags sad.gif

how did you update the drivers? did you clear the old/unused/hidden monitor driver? is the resolution set in native setting and also the refresh rate?

Hello fellow monitor enthusiasts, I'm looking for a new 27" monitor that would be a nice upgrade to my 23" 1080p. I have my eyes on the Dell U2713HM.

Are there any other better alternatives than the one mentioned? I'm primarily going for the regular 16:9 ratio.
*
how your budget? how about higher end model? Dell U2713H.

Yo guys - anyone did Dell warranty in M'sia before? Is it easy and straight-forward? I just realized teng's pricing is so much better and lol, planning to skip the SG Dell lady already.
*
for example: U2414H teng 940 vs. 859 Dell MY
pricing still better?

Any bro can give me some suggestion?
Still cannot decide which monitor to buy..
I like the DELL U2414H design but the problem is only 24"
I wish to get 27" but S2740L is glossy screen.
Asus MX279H also framless AH-IPS.. what do you guys think of this monitor
*
get U2713H now or wait Dell new design 27".

Wow, tri-23". I would want to do a double or tri-24" with U2414H but judging from my miniscule corner to place my PC and stuff, I will have to make do with a 24" only. Additionally, too pricey to splurge on three of it in one go, I will get murdered  sweat.gif

*On Asus, major bs - called their call center to no avail. The lady said that she don't know what is the delay and she will escalate it, despite the fact that this is my third chaser call to get status update and the service center never responded to any of the escalations at all  doh.gif

djlah: teng's price is lower now, and it is cheaper even if I take 5 years warranty from teng than what SG Dell can offer with 3 years warranty only (SGD360 / RM950). Only prob is claiming the warranty itself, I would have to come back to M'sia to get MY Dell service instead of SG. Pity that they don't offer international warranty for this.
*
how much teng quote for 5 years warranty? you're right, monitor no international warranty. but you should be no problem just go to JB?

Is this some kind of first world problem?

Display port with 16:9 + nvidia = Limited Range RGB 16-235’ instead of ‘Full Range RGB 0-255’

http://pcmonitors.info/reviews/dell-u2414h

Nvidia seems doesn't like 1920*1080 resolution going through displayport.  It will not detect as PC, instaed of HDTV resolution.

What the hell? Im going to purchase this monitor soon.
*
how do we verify the RGB range?

HDTV preset resolution will conform the REC709 standard color gamut, which is 16 > 235.  16 being black, 235 being white. This is also called limited range.  Blu-ray, consoles and hdmi appliances all using this color gamut.

While PC standard/VESA have full range from 0 > 255.  Display port is VESA standard. But it seems nvidia drivers has bug.  1920x1080 is NOT a VESA standard, it is a HDTV standard.  That is why nvidia driver pening.
*
oh..it's only nvidia bug? Intel/AMD confirm no such issue?

hi, one of my monitor's acting up. it's been several days but since I havent had time lately I didnt bother.

the left side of the screen shows horizontal lines resulting in pixelation on that side, the white balance is also affected, sometimes it becomes green, sometimes purple. switching cables does nothing (DVI>HDMI>VGA all same result)

should I call dell or is there a way to fix? I've never called tech support before, is it really like what they say, call and they straight come to take (I'm in Kuantan btw) or is there going to be a lengthy conversation first?
*
just remove all cable from monitor, left only power cord then do the monitor selftest. just call technical support if still persist.

Nvidia can let  u enable Full Range SRGB. Google about it.
*
no need google, the article already included the nvidia tool to enable full sRGB.

Hi guys, how does the Dell U2414H compares to the old Ultrasharps like 2407WHP & 2408WHP and the newer U2410 & U2413 ? ... strictly color wise.
*
2407WHP & 2408WHP is old tech, not so comparable. let's take panels launched this few years ago to compare. my eyes not so good in differentiation, here is the spec comparison for color:

Color Gamut
U2412MU2413U2414H
82% (CIE 1976)120% (CIE1976)85% (CIE 1976)
72% (CIE 1931)103% (CIE1931)72% (CIE1931)
74.9% AdobeRGB99% AdobeRGB??
97% sRGB100% sRGB96% sRGB

U2413 still better, specially featuring 1.07 Billion colors and 8 bits + FRC panel. but consider launched price still highest if I'm not wrong.

Thanks, will consider.
Thanks. That's so informative. I'm currently using 6-yr old 2407WHP. Warranty finished abt 1-yr ago. I'm thinking of getting 2 units of 2412M (gonna switch off the 2407whp for good or treat it just a backup) but kind of worried that it could be a downgrade to the 2407WHP. If that's the case, I'd just go for 1 unit of U2413 just to complement the 2407WHP, which I will continue to use.

Been scouting around, I was quoted RM8xx for U2412M and RM19xx for U2413, all brand new. I will try to find U2410 if lucky.

U2414H is out of question because I only eyeing for 16:10 monitor.
Thanks. May I request the original url/article that features this table? Wondering if there's comparison also for U2410.
I was under the impression that, U2414H is U2412M successor and U2413 is the successor or U2410.

If I'm not mistaken "H" prefix means HD (16:9) and "M" means average color.

UQ series aside, those without H or M prefix is the superior among all ultrasharp (U) series.  tongue.gif as well carrying hefty pricetag.
*
Dell already moved to 16:9 monitor trending in majority. not much 16:10 monitor choice left unless looking back older models.

the table I create myself. only manage to collect up to U2412M ATM. will continue check for older model and update the table.

not sure if you guys care about operating power of the monitor. nowadays average size of monitor like 24" FHD WLED, typically about 16W-74W. premier high end monitors featuring 1.07 Billion colors will consume up to 120W. 4K monitor take even much more power, which is 100W-170W except low end TN 4K panel, about 75W-100W.

Yeah but then the monitor includes a displayport to mini displayport cable that I can't get it to use due to my graphics card only comes with 2 DVI, 1 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort sad.gif

Ended up have to use my own HDMI cable instead without buying a new cable.
*
don't understand, why cannot use?
from GC 1 DP <--> cable to <--> miniDP Monitor, problem?

Monitor supports 2 x DP, the miniDP is the output (MST) if I'm not mistaken. Can someone clarify?
*
okay, I know about the monitor....

full size DP port got 2, 1 for input from GC, another 1 (MST) for output to another monitor.
miniDP is input from your GC. conclusion, you have 2 DP input, in full size and mini.

so either your GC is mini or full size DP, also no problem with bundled DP cable.

last time old Dell UltraSharp are 16:10, but now Dell already moved to 16:9 trending. please refer my old post #2250 for list of last recent 16:10 Dell models, only left few choices, some may already EOLed.

other brands 16:10 as I know like AOC, can refer my old post #1912, 3 models in 16:10.

Got it working now with displayport cable, however the the color is limited instead of full rgb, everything seems to be washed out and over bright. So at the end revert back to HDMI rclxub.gif
Stupid Nvidia display driver that causing this and there's no fix for that...
*
great sharing. the best is I avoid nvidia card, get AMD Radeon instead if nvidia still did not fix the driver. Nowadays monitor all trending to DisplayPort 1.2. + HDMI 1.4; all legacy VGA and DVI port starting to remove out on mainstream/high end range monitor.

1920x1080 not enough use  cry.gif

I'm from 27" to 24". no regret. planning to get 2nd 24" unit.

you're right. just in general size different. if this year ultrasharp 27" price not too high, might consider to upgrade. expected to have same design ID like U2414H, narrow slim bezel, I like it.

No,you're wrong. the model number naming next should be U2715H. I guess no more M model. expected to see more 4K monitors too, maybe is UP2715Q, since there is already have UP3214Q & UP2414Q. but 4K not for me now at this moment.
