strange then because according to TFT Central its AH-IPS from LG

http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2414h.htm
another review stating its AH-IPS with the part number

http://pcmonitors.info/reviews/dell-u2414h

i would be disappointed if i paid over RM800 for a monitor and getting only standard IPS.... should have went for the Asus model instead
*
as I mentioned before, some of spec update from TFT Central are not accurate. That's correct, The Dell U2414H utilises an LG.Display LM238WF2-SSA1, as the spec below but still fall within standard IPS panel only:

- 16.77 Million Colors
- 6 bits + AFRC Panel
- Gamut: 85% (CIE 1976) 72% (CIE1931) 96% sRGB

VS. the real AH-IPS spec, which is higher:

- 1.07 Billion Colors
- 8 bits + FRC Panel
- Gamut: 120% (CIE 1976) 109% (CIE1931) 99% sRGB

you disappointed on RM800 paid for U2414H? coz you expected to get AH-IPS? Do you know what's the launched price last time for U2413 (AH-IPS)?

sure bro?i have seen on the internet saying its using AH-IPS..

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2411736,00.asp
http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/dell-re...or-dell-u2713hm
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardw...tor-review.html

so i think its still using AH-IPS but just the specs is lower than the U2713H. correct me if im wrong.
*
if I'm remember correctly, both U2713H and U2713HM are also AH-IPS panel. U2713H spec higher for sure....

same tech as their IPS 29 at 2560x1080.

definitely going to get this. Should expect dell to do a Ultrasharp version of this panel.

already addicted to 29.
*
yeah, expect Dell to come out UltraSharp 34" widescreen like LG too. U2913WM fans gonna love it.... wub.gif 21:9 wub.gif

The 1080 vertical pixel is really holding me back. If only it comes with 1200px. wub.gif
Now waiting for the rumored u3415w, 1440p ultrawide. drool.gif

Enjoy your new monitor!
*
for 1200px, so far only seen 16:10 monitor. not sure there is 21:10 exist in the market?
rumored U3415W should be 3440 x 1440, if true then the ratio again is follow back the standard 21:9 widescreen spec.

well I still have my old 24in that is 1920x1200, so I'm set but else yeah, a 21:10 is the perfect monitor biggrin.gif
U3415W or LG 34UM95 is also 3440x1080 only which is 21:9, even 16:10 is rare
*
for Dell, can get U3014, it's 16:10

standard ips better than e-ips?
*
IMO, both eIPS and standard IPS panel perform quite close. the comparison or different for these 2 models as below:

U2414H vs. U2412M
Pixel: 0.275mm vs. 0.270mm
Color Gamut: 85% (CIE 1976)/96% sRGB vs. 82% (CIE 1976)/97% sRGB
Brightness: 250 cd/m² vs. 300 cd/m²

BTW, U2412M is not using e-IPS, it's also standard IPS panel.

Wait noooo...
My desk gonna sink ,it's hot and heavy..

^ what are they voting for o.o
*
oic... you're right, it's hot.

U2713H:
443.58 BTU/hour (maximum)
204.73 BTU/hour (typical)

compare to U2414H just:
250.99 BTU/hour (maximum)
54.20 BTU/hour (typical)

also found that UP3214Q lagi panas:
580.21 BTU/hour (maximum)
341.30 BTU/hour (typical)

about weight, I have no concern, it's just 1 time open box and place on desktop table, not like notebook that need to carry around.

*

Guys, Dell don't sell 23 inch IPS anymore?
*
Current available IPS 23" Monitor models are:
1. S2340L
2. P2314H
3. UZ2315H (New Model)

if you have luck, some retailer might have stock left for U2312HM (e-IPS)

else, suggest add little bit more budget to get U2414H, it's just 23.8"

I'd like the Ultrasharp series like U2312HM, any idea which retailer still has it?

Cheers
*
no idea, maybe you can try luck at ideatech. Else, consider other UltraSharp models: UZ2315H & U2414H

Well I have 1 U2311H and 1 U2312HM (my brother's one)
*
if just a concern for side by side for similarity size physically, or worried U2414H size bigger than 23", have a look.....

user posted image

here is the comparison side by side U24141H vs. U2312HM (photo quoted fromjimmy.soo)
thanks to new slim bezel design, regular standard size is 18mm vs 6mm bezel.

else other choices are:
1. Browse our Garage Sales for used U2311H
2. sell your U2311H, get 2 units U2414H or triple setup brows.gif (click the spoiler for poison)

It's optional. as long as you keep your original receipt, or dell order/invoice as proof of purchase will do. For mine, I didn't register online too.

dun judge too fast
several reviews said although it is TN, the color and view angle was consider quite good
TN also has very low response time which is very good for fast gaming

the most important thing is
you can't find 60hz 4K monitor anywhere else with this kind of price, RM18xx
*
I don't want, it's doesn't meant the monitor are bad, ok? laugh.gif
