*
increase some little budget, get Dell S2240L.

QUOTE(Duckies @ Oct 15 2013, 03:32 PM)
Eh, Dell S2340L is IPS while S2440L is VA? Which is better? Still doubting between Asus VX239H - RM 670, Dell 2340L or Dell 2440L hmm.gif Need the HDMI hmm.gif

IPS > VA

QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Oct 16 2013, 09:52 PM)
Looking for similar brand and performance? Then try the U2413H(M??), around RM900.
*
2011: Dell U2412M
2012: Dell U2413 (AH-IPS)
2013: Dell U2414H (USB 3.0)

now I'm considering change my S2740L to 1 or 2 Dell U241x (dunno which gen better?)

Hi djlah,

I am actually looking for a 27in monitor and was zooming into Dell 27 Ultrasharp i think is 2713HM...

any comments from you why you choose S2740L ? I'd like to hear if you already did some background study and analysis between the models..

thank you in advance..
*
of course U2713HM better. I got S2740L because ultrasharp is out of my budget that time doh.gif
if you have more budget, U2713H even better.

hi guys,

need recommendation between Dell 2340L (IPS) & 2440L (VA).. main use is for working purpose.. need large screen size so I have more workspace to work with.. main usage is for work, and some gaming and perhaps watching movie as well.. which one is better choice? i'll be connecting the lcd to my laptop..

and how about Dell 2740L? is it too huge?
*
I'm using S2740L. for me, minimum size now must be at least 24", 27" just little bit slightly extra feeling for me nod.gif

hi all,

just wanna ask, how to check dell monitor warranty? did they follow the manufactured date?
*
depend on the model. if you having 27" monitor or above, there is a service tag behind the monitor, that you can punch in at dell online warranty to know the warranty detail. other smaller size monitor, will follow your official order/invoice date or receipt which is more benefit for end user than manufactured date.

someone want to sell his dell ultrasharp u2420m but he not sure about the warranty..he provide me with the pic of the sticker on the box containing serial number and manufacture date (oct 2012)..i just want to confirm the warranty before buying from him..the price quite attempting..any advice?  sad.gif
*
my advise is ask the buyer to get back the original receipt for you is the best. just based on the sticker on the box, nobody can tell is the warranty still active or not (since 24" don't have service tag)? local or import unit? and also avoid getting ARB unit. unless the buyer had stated otherwise with cheaper price offer or you can send back to him if you want to claim warranty in future. BTW, how much is the price?

not really, the price increases as the resolution and extra features increases

23-24" usually 1080p resolution with some exception of cheap 27" which are 1080p as well

most 27" onwards are 1440-1600p. only 32" are 4K resolution which is overpriced (USD5.4k for a Dell 4K anyone? laugh.gif)

since youre going for movie playing, just grab any Full HD TV within your budget nod.gif 40" TV is sort of mainstream now
*
both Asus PQ321Q & Dell UP3214Q 4K monitor are using same Sharp IGZO panel, but Dell are much more expensive than Asus, (~RM17k vs. ~RM11.5k). haven't see any details comparison reviews among these 2, maybe the extra charge add on for Dell is warranty cost?

Dell 24" 4k monitor price revealed. $1399
Good price for 4k

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/83292-...-28-inch-model/
*
for office or working purpose (other than graphic design or photo editing), in 3840 x 2160 resolution, when open excel in max windows size, you can view the column until "BG". imaging how small or tiny for each object or words. After boost windows DPI entirely to 150%, excel column still can view until "AM"

so my comment is, 4K resolution really not suitable in document/computing on smaller size of monitor. 32" or bigger and graphic design or photo editing are still fine.

you're right. but not for budget sensitive or value for money. and you need 4k capable monster graphic card to drive as well brows.gif brows.gif for hardcore gamer drool.gif else, console gaming level and movie, just buy regular 4K TV are enough. cheaper and more bigger size options.

good offer I see so far:

hi, i purchase a dell u2312hm with 5 year warranty for my friends from a big online seller that also do wholesale and retail business, they courier the monitor with the whole box to me, the box didnt open before, the monitor itself is brand new and good, verify it with dell monitors factory menu, monitor uptime, the box has dell service tag sticker, but the dell order number sticker is removed, when i email the online seller, they claim it is removed becoz they also do wholesale business, those reseller purchase from them dont want to let their customer know where they get their stock from, it is a valid reason, but i purchase directly with them, without any reseller, and they also do retail, online seller business themself, they shouldnt remove the dell order number sticker at all of their dell monitor box in advance.

the problem right now is, dell default warranty for this price range of dell monitor is 3 year, for verify this one does came with/upgraded to 5 year warranty, would need the dell order number, cannot with the dell service tag, dell will not honor 5 year warranty without dell order number, only default 3 year warranty, even if the dell monitor was came with/upgraded to 5 year warranty.

i do email the online seller, they said they would provide me the dell order number, by asking me the photo of the dell service tag sticker at the box, but it has been around 2 weeks since i last getting reply from them, their management.
*
Dell u2312hm monitor do not have service tag. only 27" or larger monitor did come with service tag sticker. I guess the online seller meant is PPID. can you share who is the big online seller you purchased from?

dell order number is something like this, sample from dell website, it can be a paper, a digital pdf file, a sticker on the box.

the picture inside the spoiler is not called service tag, that's called Dell Part Number and Serial Number. and of course everyone know what is Dell order number, simply straight forward.

I'm looking to buy a 19-20" monitor to pair with inspiron 660s slim tower for my wife. Usage would be office works and occasional browsing. Budget is less than RM350. Dell's website is not helpful - can't order - so I'm looking at alternative like Samsung/AOC/ASUS from the czone pricelist. Which of these monitors are the most reliable?
*
among this 3 brands in general, I vote for AOC.

Any particular reason why AOC?

most of mainstream are IPS panel for AOC.
samsung value buy models mostly are TN panel. even some are better with VA panel but IPS still better than VA.
ASUS most of models I see before, expensive. no see further.

did you think about why your online reseller take so long time to provide you the dell order number? why you need to claim direct to dell malaysia? cannot claim from your online reseller?

either it is a lie or they just stuck at all the department and how to store and find information. right now the dell monitor has not problem whatsoever, just want to make sure i get what i brought, which is 5 year warranty, that is all. dell monitor warranty is claim from dell malaysia right? on-site or postage. what is the point to go thru online reseller as middle man, who is paying for the postage fee and service charges?
*
if you want to make sure what you get, MUST buy only from Dell Malaysia Authorize Dealer. dealer receipt provided is your proof of purchased and confirm recognized by Dell Malaysia. don't complain if you want to get dirty cheap product from grey market.

just to remind, there is many unauthorized online seller's stock are not source from Dell Malaysia and not valid for Dell Malaysia warranty support. Beside remove the order number sticker, some are even worst, they sell you ARB monitors with normal price and remove the ARB sticker but did not tell you the truth.

if you already bought, why not you share with us who is the online seller you bought from? maybe we can help to confirm if there is any background of the online seller?

How to check if a dealer is Dell Malaysia Authorize or not? I am sure if one asks, all dealers will say they are authorised.

if Dell Online are available for the product you looking for, buy direct. else, you can check Authorize dealer/partner here by location.
