QUOTE(dillonyong @ Aug 30 2012, 10:52 PM) For such a brilliant gem, they are selling to us at only $1million? Is Comolli managing their finance? LOL Exactly why I have my doubts on the validity of this rumour or is he as talented as suggested for Leverkusen to let an 18 yo go for just 1m. Maybe Hyypia is just doing us a huge favour here. QUOTE(leftist @ Aug 30 2012, 11:09 PM) We got sterling for 500k..so no surprise if its 1m for an 18y.o german kid Well Sterling was pretty much an unknown at the time while this kid capped a starring role at the U-17 World Cup, even Arsene whom we all know have an eye for young talent was linked with this kid last year after his performances.

QUOTE(marche @ Aug 31 2012, 02:09 AM) Carrol most likely going to be sold tonight..as we pursuit Walcott as replacement.. Nope. The likeliest scenario is BR letting Skrtel play in this game then dropping him for the Arsenal game as punishment for his howler with Big Andy stepping up in his place.

QUOTE(e30 @ Aug 31 2012, 02:53 AM) ok so Spearing out on loan to Bolton, Carroll to West Ham on Loan, Adam to stoke/villa or Fulham in part exchange for Dempsey. All these moves does clear the wage bill, but we aren't exactly raising funds for new purchases are we? Sturridge deal sounds unlikely, and it would surprise me if Walcott agrees to come to us. Llorente has also been linked, but he is similar to Andy so i dont see the point. Exciting hours ahead for us int he market definitely, wonder what surprises are in store Nope not true, he might be taller than Andy but he is far more technical. He can weave his way with the ball through defenders, something you will never ever see Big Andy do.

QUOTE(skyz @ Aug 31 2012, 03:24 AM) i tot thats pacheco? not assaidi? is he injured, pacheco? Well the commentator said Assaidi and Sahin, obviously he didn't recognize our new signing but I wasn't looking at them both so I'm not sure, I had my eyes on Yesil. Yup he looks a lot like Ozil, that Turkish look, hopefully as good.

The passing has been too slow and predictable, players spending too much time standing on the ball than moving with the ball!
Can't believe how wasteful Suarez has been when he has the ball. It's no wonder he is topping the league with 11 shots and 0 goals as his freekick goal doesn't count as a shot.

QUOTE(LucasPSS @ Aug 31 2012, 03:38 AM) If we fail to get someone in to replace him then I guess we will be seeing more game time for Morgan and Gerrard up front or even perhaps the new kid Yesil.

LOL isn't kinda funny to see BR contradicting himself each time? "No I'm not interested in the Liverpool hot seat", here he is. "I would need to be a nutcase to let Andy out on loan", there he goes. Next time let's ask if he is making a cheeky bid for Messi.

QUOTE(Yuka Yuka @ Aug 31 2012, 04:00 AM) i think u left out that part QUOTE Brendan Rodgers claims he would "need to be a nutcase" to let striker Andy Carroll leave Liverpool on loan for Newcastle or any other club.
"There is absolutely no chance [of a loan deal] - and certainly not Newcastle," Rodgers said, quoted by the Guardian.
"I need a minimum of three strikers. Once the window shuts, that is it until January. I have got (Luis) Suarez, Fabio Borini, and Andy Carroll.
"I would need to be a nutcase even to consider at this moment to let Carroll go out, unless there are other solutions for that." Surely its a sign he has someone lined up, yup Messi is coming to Liverpool. Who's excited?

To be honest if we take Sterling out of the equation, Hearts has looked so much more threatening in the final 3rd.
Yet another howler by Reina.

They were asking for it, wasting chances after chances, possession after possession. Inviting Hearts on to us and they are coming in stronger with each attack.

Yet again we show we only willing to turn up when the pressure is on hence performing in big games and failing in lesser games.

QUOTE(max_cavalera @ Aug 31 2012, 03:34 PM) omg NO! hope liverpool cant afford to buy him! Its only a loan move, it comes down to whether Chelsea can get Schurrle. Added on August 31, 2012, 4:01 pmQUOTE(dillonyong @ Aug 31 2012, 03:41 PM) We're not buying him. We are borrowing. Apparently he fits into BR's plan because he is versatile enough to fit into multiple positions - ie: Wing, Attacking Forward, Centre Forward. Dempsey is still gonna come, I think. I do not fancy this Dempsey move simply because of Fulham's asking price, they would have to halve the price for it to be considered a reasonable deal. I still have my doubts for Dempsey, he scored lots of goals but many other sub-par players do when they play for smaller teams where they are the focal point of the attack, simply put it "big fish in a small pond". Also looking at how we were playing last night, were we even creating enough clear cut chances for our strikers? Most of them were half chances at best. Suarez often has to try doing something on his own, nutmegging past players and when he gets close enough to the goal he is surrounded by 2-3 defenders with the ball rolling away from him as the GK closes down on him. So far we've only seen Sterling who is capable of doing those mazy dribbling runs pulling defenders onto him. If Suarez is the focal point of our attack and we depend on him to score our goals, shouldn't it be the midfielders or winger/forwards to do those dribbling runs to free up space or those defense splitting through or lob passes for our goalscorers to have a better chance of scoring ala 1 on 1 opportunities. Wasn't that how Owen and Torres scored their goals? By sitting on the shoulders of defenders waiting for a clever pass looking to break free of the offside trap at any moment which their pace will then set them on to score a 1v1 chance against the GK. QUOTE(hfi @ Aug 31 2012, 04:27 PM) I watched the match again today and from what i saw, it's mostly down to us lacking one playmaker. Under Rafa we had good balance. Xabi was a deep playmaker and Gerrard was the advance playmaker. The likes of Benayoun and Garcia were also advance playmakers. Torres just had to concentrate on scoring goals. We've not reach that kind of balance - at least not yet. Both Allen and Jonjo can pass then ball, but they're no playmakers. They look more like all rounder midfielders. The lack of a true playmaker in the middle means Gerrard has to come deep to see the ball. This obviously opens the gap between him and Suarez. If Gerrard comes deep, Suarez has to drop slightly deep and become the advance playmaker. The result is a big giant mess of erratic movement and inconsistent build up. The key lies in Sahin i reckon. Or any other person taking up that playmaker role in the middle. If Sahin can be the long sought replacement for Xabi, it will go a long way improving our build up and goal scoring chance. Exactly my thoughts, its impossible for Suarez to both make plays and finish them off all the time.
