QUOTE(law1777 @ Aug 18 2012, 03:28 PM) he is asking for LEADTEK GTX680 reference fan noise comparing non reference/custom Yup! My bad. Didn't notice "reference" was written there. u should just say reference card r all the same nothing's changed. so brain it himself 1) Change to aftermarket cooler. 2) Set the fan speed manually. Card A have auto speed, card B is 75% speed so card A will be louder than card B. 3) Change to watercooling and yet the card fan is less than custom card. Conclusion; all reference card have same fan loudness. Added on August 18, 2012, 3:35 pm QUOTE(terrance511 @ Aug 18 2012, 03:32 PM) Nothing wrong. Just blue PCB look akward in ROG themed. QUOTE(diaBoliQu3 @ Aug 18 2012, 03:28 PM) And yes Gigabyte use GTX 680 PCB but it's not reference PCB IINM. The pcb and the caps is high quality etc. The problem with Malaysia price is Gigabyte are way overpriced (gap around RM 100 vs Asus DCUii). Based on US market, the price is should on par with reference GTX 670 or a tad higher but here, so r u saying the gigabyte is better?? coz im in the middle of these 2 brand....been few day google bout this 2 brand...will the gigabyte drown more power than asus?? QUOTE(hazwan_aviator @ Aug 18 2012, 03:37 PM) so r u saying the gigabyte is better?? IMO, yes. But, check here for more info and more poison till you end up stuck between these two card. coz im in the middle of the 2 brand....been few day google bout this 2 brand...wil the gigabyte drown more power than asus?? http://www.overclock.net/t/1258755/overclo...-670-vs-gtx-680 http://www.overclock.net/t/1289489/gtx-670...ed-voltage-bios BOTH are great card. Either one is a good choice. The question is will you spend more for Gigabyte, and can your eyes accept blue PCB? My conclusion is: Asus: - Custom PCB and caps. - Custom design. Kinda heavy and thick. People that SLI this card told me that the gap is very small. - 6+6 power phase. Gigabyte: - Custom PCB and caps. And GTX 680 PCB. Easier to change to watercooling in the future in case you want to change. - Custom design. Light, and the card is suitable for SLI. -6+8 power phase. Theoretically, higher power phase will allow higher oc'ing. QUOTE(law1777 @ Aug 18 2012, 04:22 PM) Yup, that's why either blue or black PCB can fit in my rig. (Blue mobo, blue RAM, blue film here.)QUOTE(terrance511 @ Aug 18 2012, 04:25 PM) Visual only. But of course custom PCB might perform better than reference PCB. |

Does the PCB used on the card really matter? For performance? I believe quality of the PCB are important.

QUOTE(diaBoliQu3 @ Aug 18 2012, 04:04 PM) What kind of stutter? Kind to explain or give me link? As I know, stuttering is happen to all Kepler right? BTW, since you ask me, when I play Mafia II, sometime my FPS drop to 30's even in less action scene or normal movement but only happen for few second and occur randomly after maybe half an hour? It's not that very disturbing, the card is still new, no time to explore much. im not sure if my info was right or not, they said asus having prob with the original bios(manufacture oc)...not stable as if cause stutter in some game like fifa... The other link is is GTX 670 roundup, and the other one is Gigabyte GTX 670 OC vs GTX 680 OC. IINM, tri fan abit cooler but a bit noisy than Asus DCUii. |

The bios is for Top. The bios will downclock the card on load. And that stuttering is general for new Nvidia card. |

QUOTE(diaBoliQu3 @ Aug 18 2012, 04:48 PM) I'm not sure but that's what written sometime. Something like "high quality PCB for better performance bla bla bla" in some spec. Later the vendor came up with marketing stuff, thick board, 3oz copper board etc. Just like what usually mobo vendor always boost about. |
