what i mean is the voltage regulator not the core .... if u use ATI tool ...
there is one section that display the voltage regulator of the card ..which is in physically is the chips under a long heat sink at end of the card nearby power connector..
that chip should be hot especially when gaming intensely..
@rlhc17
can check it out for me ???

QUOTE(irangan @ Feb 7 2007, 10:28 PM) I think you means ATI Tool 2.6. It do support x1950series but not x1950pro and x1650pro yah .. actually it should be ATI Tool 0.26 .. so it does not support the two card u mentioned as well.... hmm .. they are really slow in updating the card support...

for lower end model of ATI there's no way to check the temperature ...
however it wont produce too much of heat as well...
you could get HR-03 from Hworang45 mini bulk..
check out the bulk section ...

hmm ... i really hope that it would be equipped with blower and exhaust from behind ... i dont like the idea to keep the hot air inside the case
so far only HR-03 PLus able to cool off G80 well enough ....

if u are reffering to 8800 series the answer would be no, only HR-03 Plus edition from themalright that specially designed to fit the larger chipset size of the G80 able to work properly on 8800 series.
I am not sure for 8600 series as it's just released.

QUOTE(akachester @ Apr 18 2007, 08:52 AM) I think current 8600GTS cooler have the same design as the one on the 8800, just slightly shorter and without the heatpipe..And i do like the cooler on the 8800 as well. same here it works by pushing out the heat from absorbed by the heat sink out from the case directly leaving no hot air behind. QUOTE(HaHaNoCluE @ Apr 18 2007, 07:26 PM) i personally will prefer the old ac silencer design (same as HIS gc n inno3d i-chill)... they create a better case ventilation besides cooling the gc alone n they r really silent... is ther any aftermarket cooler for 7950gx2??? i can't really find 1 except the water cooling which i'm trying to avoid, 1st maintenace, 2nd hard to get parts, 3rd afraid of leak, 4th cost... n most of us change our parts within weeks or months... so wc might b a bit not so frenly... can any1 help me out for 7950gx2 cooler??? Sell ur 7950GT and gab a 8800GTS 320 version ...

@HaHaNoCluE
Hmm of course loh, 8800GTS 320mb will suffer at higher resolution,, even 640mb will do just fine. If u want nth wrong then GTX is the only solution which often way out of budget for most people.. this is not USA after all. People can't afford some thing extreme...
I am not sure how u set the games, but i have run the following game at max detail with AA and AF at maximum as well. Exp: C&C 3, Tomb Raider: Legend, WTCC, COH, Ghost Recon Advanced War Fighter. I dont experience serious lagging only minor lag when there are too many units for strategy game....
further more i think the cooler on 8800 series works well by exhaust the hot air out directly ... which the main reason i didn't bother of changing the cooler ... but it wont be the same for GX2 .... no option on third party cooler besides WC ...
@akachester
yah there's never any air cooler for it due to the strange size and number of users that are minimal...
only WC block was designed for it due to demand of extreme OCker...

hmmm .. the release of this V2 indicates the rise of copper cooler again ??? I really don't understand what it's been designed for ..
can't just Thermalright starts to design blower type of heat sink that able to push the heat out from the case easily ....
i still don't like the idea to keep the hot air inside of the case and only wait for it to be dissipated out from the case through the rear fan ...

that depends on the cooler comes with the card .. .
but most of time 3rd party cooler will work better than stock cooler especially for ATI cards ...

hahhah according to review it should be 15c lower during load and 7 degree lower during idle...
of course it still depend on the fan configuration and airflow of the case ....

That's why have to get HR-03 PLUS, how I wish Thermalright releases one for 2900XT .... the crazy hot blower always drives me nut when playing my favourite game TRA..
So far I don't think any other cooler can match the performance of TR when comes to air cooling ... if u want something more looks for WC ....

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Jul 12 2007, 07:35 PM) Nope. There is not a single 3rd party VGA heatsink that is available for Nvidia 8800 series yet. I thought Thermalright HR-03 Plus is meant for 8800 series???? Still waiting for this damn cooler R600 version to come it ..... hopefully someone bring it soon, it's kick ass product apart from the size ...
