Iridium or copper it doesn't matter, because the bottleneck is the current supplied to the to the spark plugs via the coil.

If you take a look at the firestorm video, you'll see what I mean. If anyone is technically inclined enough and able to plug the Firestorm directly to each coil instead of the fusebox, the effect will be even more dramatic. 

Furthermore, iridium plugs are not cheap either

when the difference can clearly be feel (increased power throughout rpm band, smoother gear change [AT cars]), heard (quieter engine), sensed (cat con temperature increase) and smelled (no fuel smell from exhaust fumes), it will no longer be a placebo effect.

weird case. but usually these case happens once then forever it wont happen again. If it happens for the second time, then only it is time for a proper diagnostic check.
