my budget is about 60K
honestly i prefer the basic swift more than myvi extreme
Before i decide to buy swift, i also in dilemma whether want to take swift or myvi se 1.5 as well.
What make me hesitate to take swift was swift is already 8 years old model, yet SMA haven't bring in the new swift to Malaysia, also fear new swift will come to Malaysia this year.
While Myvi spec wise, really pawn swift.
But what make me take swift is because the handling and stability of the swift really pawn myvi. And if i had to wait for third generation swift come to Malaysia, new swift come with smaller engine (suzuki want to comply new europe emission standard), some more the price may way higher than the current GX spec.
Swift design outdated? look at third generation, suzuki also didn't do much modification. This design is evergreen design.
And we already share a lot of pro and cons of the swift.
In the end, you need to ask yourself what your priority criteria when choosing car, then you may have a result of choosing the right car for you.

LOL!!!!! Real men attack corner style??
darknight6070 : go show room try try 1st... both have pros n cons.. driven both and family own both...

Today finally filled up my swift again, and fill up RM74 @ 38.94l, had run 601 km mileage.
Ok, now is time to reveal my way of controlling the right foot muscle when driving swift:
1.
Fast gearshifting - After driving few months of swift, i would say the swift gearbox is tuned for sporty ride, as it tends to holding one gear ratio for a longer time, just like other car when you engage sport mode on your auto gearbox. And when the car go sporty, don't expect to had good fc. Plus the wide gear ratio cannot harness the power from the engine and underpower feeling on lower rpm really make people rev high on pickup. That why i say swift fc will suffer on pickup.
However, with some skill you can "cheat" the gearbox to shift gear faster. For my case, i rarely rev above 2.2k rpm during pickup, and i shift gear when my swift speed reach certain speed:
20 km/h 1st > 2nd
30 km/h 2nd > 3rd
50 km/h 3rd > 4th
Also during pickup, i apply gradual force to the gas pedal, on first gear, press light foot, and gradually increase the pressing power on each gear shift.
to "cheat" the gearbox to swift faster, when i drive swift during pickup, when swift reach the speed mentioned above, i will briefly reduce the pressing force on the gas pedal, than the gearbox will think i had enough of power and gear shift. After that i return back the previous force to the gas pedal, and may increase the force a little in case the car is not quick enough.
To better illustrate, the feeling is like driving manual gear, press the gas pedal, when reach certain speed, release the gas pedal and shift gear by pressing clutch. But for my case, i just slightly lift up a bit, the leg still pressing the gas pedal.
2.
Whack corner - One of the reason i whack corner is to carry as much speed as possible before and after going through corner. So that when exiting corner, i won't had to press the gas pedal hard to regain the speed again, just need to slightly press the gas pedal to return to the initial speed.
3.
4th gear - on swift is a overdrive gear, means the engine no need to do to much work to drive the car. So when i drive the car, after i accelerate and gain enough speed, again i slightly lift my right foot to cheat the gearbox into entering the 4 th gear as soon as possible so that swift can drive in economical mode. FYI:
80km/h @ 2000rpm
90km/h @ 2250rpm
110km/h @ 2800rpm
4.
Tire pressure, please always maintain your tire pressure at the recommended tyre pressure, it help improve fc.
5.
Air-Cond - Air-cond compressor draw power from swift engine, reducing the power of the engine, so if possible, just adjust the temperature of the air-cond to a adequate temperature, no need to turn max. Also tinted glass really help when driving under sunny day, as less heat go into the car, no need to turn air-cond temperature to very low to increase load of the engine.
