It happened 1 hour after I slept around 2am, during that time I think my network also don't have much remote activities.
Mine is P1 ForBiz package, eventhough it's dynamic IP, it's very strange why P1 want to renew it that frequent.
I'm still monitoring, may test running some remote network activities persistentl to see whether it will force renew.
If really P1 force to renew the IP even I have business transaction with remote, I'll be a angry man, yet again !

FYI,
Maxis FTTH renews their dynamic ip every 48 hours.
P1 FiberBiz every 1-2 days
Reasons I can think of,
1) ip pool is small, need to free up unused ips
(not a valid reason, oversell results in connection problems during peak hours)
2) default server dhcp settings
(some default 24 hours, some 7 days, some forever lease depending on brand)
a simple tweak to their server dhcp lease time will fix it.
nobody complain, so nothing done.
what "IDEAL" lease duration should be,
it depends on how the short disconnections are going to affect usage.
Maybe 3/7/14/30/forever days??....(I oso dunno)
I would appreciate if you could lodge a complain to fix this if necessary.
You have the experience dealing with them thru proper channel.
Thanks.
sidenote: depending on usage:
some users actually prefer the daily renew of ips.
some streamyx/unifi users will actually manually reset their routers to get fresh ips.
PRO
some believe certain ip are faster than the others.
more difficult to track your ip for 114a and prawn downloaders.
can register new account if banned in LYN by simply clearing cookies
etc
CON
renewing ips are actually short disconnections.
short disconnections is a problem when situations does not favour them eg cctv, direct downloads, banking etc
etc
