Oh yes, I read.....the time table is too loog for rollout! Media prima should take the lead to at least advance to SD 16:9 broadcast. They will take a hit only when they realized they have a lot of catchin up to do.

QUOTE Dato’ Mohamed Sharil elaborated, “In accordance with the conditions set out in the AIP, they will then have six months to complete this detailed Business Plan which will include detailed frequency assessment across the country, taking measurements at the transmission sites, detailed set-top box proposals including detailed execution modalities and firm up their financial capability to build, operate and maintain the DTTB infrastructure. The estimated cost to undertake these detailed second round activities alone will be in the millions”. So we're not allowed to pick and choose which STB we want? Stupid, stupid, stupid! Want choice to pick and choose the decoder we want to use! QUOTE “For the people, Digital Terrestrial Television means that they will be able to enjoy more television channels, high definition (HD) quality programmes, interactive applications like real-time voting for reality shows, Personal Video Recording, Pay-per-View channels, and much more,” explained Dato’ Mohamed Sharil. Dafuq MCMC out of their bloody mind? We have had Personal Video Recording in Analog. It's called the VCR. Also, pay per view channels? Really out of their bloody mind. People who pick up DVB-T most likely don't want PPV (even though it backs up my theory about MP and RTM offering Emas and a handful of channels as a scrambled channel while others as FTA, and backs up my theory regarding of giving them a method of enforcing TV license again in the future). This, along with the banning of Erykah Badu but allowing Justin Beaver, sorry, Beiber, is concrete proof that the MCMC is too dumb to live. Can anyone confirm that most FHD movies arent broadcast in 5.1 ch?
If not, Dolby 5.1 setting + coaxial output arent fully optimised. Is it intended for future implementation? This post has been edited by Bront Palabuto: Nov 14 2012, 06:09 PM |

QUOTE(Qash-M @ Nov 14 2012, 04:51 PM) I can understand why the "codes" irritated you which appears at random hours, not all the time. However, this does not irritate me that much when compared to what is actually happening to Fox Movies Premium HD for ALL movies 24 hours which started a few weeks ago !!! Have a look at the screenshot pictures I took from FMP HD Ch433 (Movie: Fright Night) ... Screenshot 1 : Without subtitles Screenshot 2 : With chinese subtitles Screenshot 3 : With malay subtitles Note : I believe that only for TV Series without Dolby audio source, the screen area is not cluttered, with only the FMP logo. Ok, suppose as an example, I have edited the screenshot 4 below to "add" in more of such unnecessary rubbish... Screenshot 4 : Added more rubbish by me to illustrate my point ... of course for Screenshot 4 above, not actually what is happening... BUT when I put in more "nonsense" into the screen, I think you can imagine how much I am irritated by such similar stupid rubbish (in my opinion) cluttering the screen. What made the Fox channel operators decide or "feel" that its necessary to add in the (1) Currently showing movie title at top right, (2) Advertising the coming UFC Fight at bottom right and (3) Dolby logo. Grrr.... Fox thinks that we are stupid not to know what movie name that is currently showing, thinks that everyone likes the UFC Fight and reminds us because they think we are very forgetful and to show that Fox broadcast in quality Dolby audio but somehow never tells us if any movie shown is in Dolby Stereo 2.0 or Dolby 5.1 Surround ! Almost forgot... add subtitle to it, which is important and necessary for some people, and this adds more clutter to the screen area. Lucky for me, I am fluent in engliish and a few languages so no need subtitles. Hehe... there are many very good korean dramas/movies but I never watch any because I feel its too tedious to "read" the subs. For goodness sake, FMP HD is a dedicated premium movie channel, not a news or game show channel. I cannot speak for everyone, but for me, I like to watch movies totally without any clutter or "rubbish" on the screen which really distracted me in my movie enjoyment. I do agree with you and, thus, I feel your annoyance. In retrospect, no offense intended, those stupid "codes" is "kacang putih" when compared to the "rubbish" shown in FMP HD !! I may have over-reacted here but no worries as I am still happy-go-lucky and always cheerful. Only my opinions here, hehe. Back to watching my blu-ray collection. Totally no clutter. Peace. EDITED Corrected mistakes in the screenshots sequence order with wrong title. This post has been edited by jamesleetech: Nov 14 2012, 10:30 PM |

No, since Astro has secured it exclusively for next three seasons starting from season 2013/14. QUOTE Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore said Astro is a long term partner of the Premier League. "We know that they will continue to broadcast the Barclays Premier League to Malaysian football fans in an exciting and innovative manner," he was quoted in the statement. QUOTE(Qash-M @ Nov 12 2012, 07:14 PM) Watched a bit of 'Mankind: The Story of All of Us' just now. Tested the BM audio, but felt a bit weird listening to the voice of Jalaluddin Hassan (the host of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire'). The translated script could have been better done as I felt some of the translation was too 'word-by-word'. But it's a good start. My wish for the future would be for Astro to add in English subtitles, even for English programs, as some actors like to mumble their lines... |
