(Since my current Astro contract ended on Jan 2014) right?? mine too... but still, i submit the application form below it... did you? anyhow.. my family member reluctant to change tv provider as they said "astro is quite ok" my service with astro was not been so bad, even rained, i still can watch unless it was thunder and heavy rained which basicly i cant watched not because of astro, but because my place always blackout when this two happen.. as for PVR, i dont change my old byond decoder to byond pvr, cuz i have subscribed to maxis fibre, and when astro-maxis come with iptv, i will asked if they provided free pvr.. The downside of the PVR is, it can only record 2 simultaneously programme, unlike this DirecTV DVR that can record 5 simultaneously programme instead... anyhow.. my family member reluctant to change tv provider as they said "astro is quite ok" my service with astro was not been so bad, even rained, i still can watch unless it was thunder and heavy rained which basicly i cant watched not because of astro, but because my place always blackout when this two happen.. as for PVR, i dont change my old byond decoder to byond pvr, cuz i have subscribed to maxis fibre, and when astro-maxis come with iptv, i will asked if they provided free pvr.. http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2012/10/directv-genie-dvr/ |

QUOTE(chuppachop @ Nov 12 2012, 11:11 PM) Qash M - how is the free deepavali ch comprising Vijay, Jaya, Kalaignar etc. Astro records the respective channel's program n schedule it? Any pixs? Oh dang, haven't check on it yet. Was surfin to Vijay on Starhub.....its on free preview for a week. Here ate some of the festive highlights to those interested. So much of "mixing" 4 channels into one jumbled channel. Only in Malaysia. This post has been edited by Qash-M: Nov 13 2012, 01:45 AM |

QUOTE(chuppachop @ Nov 13 2012, 03:35 PM) Oic...maybe they want to keep reminding viewers that they are using Astro. These is how the mio TV n Starhub banner looks like when u switch to the channel or doing surfing. Mio is better. Cheers. Nice EPG layout... Speaking of which, isn't Mediacorp ch5 HD is the only HD channel in Singapore that got BM subtitles? This post has been edited by Qash-M: Nov 13 2012, 04:21 PM |

For FTA chs, yes HD5 is the only one. However, the Malay subts are only for selected prime time progs. Usually, its both BM n Chinese subts. They are hard coded, cannot be enable on or off with a DVB-T receiver. I try to take a pix if I chance upon it.

Nope...only Chinese subts as they are always available by default. The argument is that most ppl understand English.....think Astro is able to provide Malay due to some cost agreement. Here are some pixs. For FTA suria, English also made It's way into a promo spot. God knows why....

current is DVB-T......suspect DVB-T2 signals should be already in testing stage.....MDA claims the news of DVB-T2 decoders availability will be announced in Mar next year.
