My dv6-6c19tx reached its peak life as well.

Was running Windows 7 with leshcat driver 14.4 unifl all the while. Suddenly while playing game it crashed then i hard reset it. Then it stucked forever at windows logo and wont boot into windows unless i go into safemode and disable the AMD HD 7690M XT.

Send to shop for replacing the graphic chip, works well for few days then after that same problem again. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Guess it is time to get a new 1.

Wah 1 TB SSD! Damn rich la haha.I just change mine to kingston savage 240GB too!
Suddenly like to use my laptop so much. No lag or whatsoever haha.
Bought it during early 2011 and still using now!!!
*
Yes 1TB SSD. smile.gif

I was able to justify the expense because:
(1) The laptop is used for work (Sales Department).
(2) There are many photos and videos stored that are used daily in Sales activities.
(3) The time it would take for the Sales Team to trim the amount of videos to fit a smaller SSD or to transcode them to a smaller format would cost the company 2 days salary for 2 staff.
(4) The salary of 2 staff for 2 days is more than the cost of a 1TB SSD.

So it was actually a good decision on the part of my boss.

Also, the day after it was installed, the Sales Department managed to close a big account. So the 1TB SSD already paid for itself. smile.gif

what software you use to clone?
*
I used "AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro Edition 5.5."

I removed the old 1TB HDD from the laptop and plugged it into my PC. Then I got the new 1TB SSD and also plugged it into my PC. Then I used AOMEI to clone the drives.

Simple and fast. No need for Windows to shut down and reboot in a proprietary OS like what Acronis does. Copy speed was around 100MB/second. smile.gif

Wow, it has been a while since I last visited here.. I am one of the owner of a dv6 as well, still running very good with all original parts.

AG469, I would strongly suggest to get a new laptop, no point spending 700-800, if it is less than 200 still can consider, but 700-800, IMO not worth repairing edy. Every laptop got lifespan one, maybe is time you explore new computer. Just my 2 cents

Mine still going strong albeit the kaput HDD and power brick. Good thermal, snappy snappy speed (SSD), both GPUs still working.

Using it for surfing, listening to music and some gaming though not directly (Steam In-Home Streaming)

Have you tried completely remove the driver with DDU and reinstall it back?

Doubt the shop replaced the graphic chip, they probably simply reball it. ph34r.gif How much the repair cost btw?

Did you try DV6-6C19TX driver? Or simply update it via Device Manager.

All the while I've been using Leshcat unifl 14.4 V2.4..

I tried completely remote the driver by using driver fusion, then ccleaner , then reinstall back. Same problem. Then i use the official driver publish by HP, also same. Send back to shop for warranty then so far working fine.

The shop charged me RM300 by the way.

Hi everyone. Been a long while since my last post (December 20, 2011). I use my DV6-6168TX almost every day and it has been a reliable workhorse.

A few days ago, I decided to upgrade to an SSD.

Instead of reinstalling Windows, I used a disk cloning tool to copy my old hard drive to the SSD.

Now my DV6 is very very fast!

Here are some photos:

Found out the problem is actually the power cord of AC adapter.

Change a new one then the problem solved.
