and another thing.. the manual does not show much about Wi-Fi connections
last nite after going around the settings, i managed to connect to my own wi-fi and browsed the internet.. then in the morning when i tried to connect again.. it showed the connection is available but when i wanted to browse internet.. it tells me no connection..

and another.. i got this i.tech clip III bluetooth device.. fully-charged it, followed the instructions but still couldn't pair it with my dopod.. i switched on the clip III first then turned on the bluetooth on my dopod.. failed.. then i tried the other way round.. still failed.. anyone with this bluetooth set?

EDIT: About the pouch.. the leather - lifetime warranty, the joint (stitching part) - forgot 1 year or 5 years warranty.. i think the belt clip joint also got warranty.. they tagged it at RM129..

i'm shocked that 818pro (TI cpu) actually run faster than hp6828. how come?

i tried out the my colleague 6828... and i just got a 818 recently... having to say that i'm impressed with the snappy response on 818 compare to 6828.

how come? hmm... anyone got similar impression as i do?

The leather pouch looks nice..but i find it kinda annoying if i have to flip the front cover up to take a call though...unless i'm using it purely as a PDA rather than a PDA Phone.. smile.gif I'm using a silicon case brand called Grab IIANM... biggrin.gif

When i'm able to browse the Internet.. it shows "Connected".. later, when i wanted to try again, it shows "Available", "Connecting" then "Unavailable".. repeats again and again.. i did not modify the setting after I got connected last nite..

i chose to get that pouch because i'm kinda a clumsy person, i tend to drop things.. i have gazillion of scratches on my mobile phones due to drops.. this pouch is kinda thick, the salesperson did "warned" me about that.. but in case it slipped through my hand, the impact won't be too much, i guess.. tongue.gif

All I can think of is.....The HP has more Apps running than the Dopod. Is the Dopod new and fresh without many apps?

Sometimes it's not just the cpu clock speed that matters. What is loaded into the memory also plays a big part....

I am also facing the same thing. I found that the range of the dopod 818 is kinda lousy, probly bec the wifi antenna is not that powerful. If I move closer to the wifi AP, I can get connected.

my wifi connectivity is also not that smooth.
Anyway, i seldom use it for networking, since it doesnt allow pop ups. Certain sites, i needs the pop up to read messages.

proggie to oc your 818pro (or any other HTC/Qtek/i-mate/Dopod)...

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! whistling.gif

1. Unzip file.

2. Copy Omapclock and Omapclockplusv0.0.4.cab to your dopod, and open/run file and install.

3. Go to programs, find omapclockplus, set ur desired speed e.g. 240mhz, click register and then exit.

4. Do soft reset. That's it, you should feel the difference straight away! U can check speed using omapclock consule.

i'm staying at 240mhz, tried 252mhz, but a lot of forums say 240mhz is the most stable.

if it's .cab, transfer the file to your ppc, find it in file explorer and click it and it will install.

if it's exe, depends on the file, if you get 'not valid win32 app', copy file to your dopod and then run it.

some proggie has exe you can run in desktop pc and it will install cab file to your ppc.

no need to configure anything for free wifi hotspot, just turn on dopod's wifi and you will be automatically be connected.

uninstall all ur prog at ur ppc side..Click Start-->Settings-->System Tab-->Remove Programs

u can actually uninstall using ur pc as well if ur ppc is connected to the pc IIANM... smile.gif

i guess u can't access the wifi hotspot outside b'coz u din register..when ur connected..go to internet explorer then try to go to some site..it will forward u to the hotspot's website and ask u to register i think..i never use hotspot in Malaysia b4 yet..only used in Australia when studying there..

U said u can't connect to ur hse wireless..is ur hse wireless having the network key?if ur wireless has the network key, u hafta put the key in to ur ppc.. smile.gif
