Okay I have three things to say.
1. I just filled up tonight for the journey back to Penang tomorrow. The previous tank was 9.9L/100 km, did almost 200 km on it. The reason for this consumption was heavy traffic on the LDP on Friday, and around Summit and USJ on Sat evening. Also on Sat night there was a horrendous jam going to Kota Damansara and I had to release steam by redlining the engine a lot. Sorry yah YAB, vacuum gauge needle was pointing to 0 a lot then. Will drive very carefully monitoring the vacuum gauge all the way back to Penang and hope to collect some more results regarding the vacuum gauge readings. 2. I noticed that my tyres have been squealing around my car park today. Then it hit me. When I was on the stock Ducaro GAs, it was silent. No squeal. After changing to XM2, they squeal a bit. It was tonight that I realised after adding the FSB made the squealing a bit louder, and then now with the RSB it squeals a lot 3. Yesterday when I was on the LDP doing around 60 km/h my friend sitting behind told me there was some noise from the tyres, and the sound was on every rotation. I couldn't hear anything though. Tonight as I was driving through my car park on the way out I could hear some flapping "pak pak pak" sound from the tyres. I thought I had a flat but all four tyres were inflated properly. So I drove on but the sound persisted. Went on the LDP again and this time I heard it clearly, though it was quite faint. Talked to YAB about it and he advised going to SC for a check in the morning. Hope it's not the drumbrake problem |

QUOTE(dares @ Aug 13 2012, 11:47 PM) Check if there are anything stuck to your tires eg. paper, plastic bag etc. etc. Thanks for the suggestion. I made a visual check just now after getting home but I think I'll go and do a more thorough one now.Happened to me last time when DIY insulflex at Kota Kemuning. |

QUOTE(gogoman86 @ Aug 13 2012, 07:27 PM) i thought we discussing those weeee noise from cabin filter ?? means ? i cannot brain...my FLX wheel arc will protected by bituminous coating soon... unker david know what happen... yes, FAT32 is a must... david, my aircond cabin filter also got weeeeeee noise... if those people without weeeeeee noise, it mean that filter fit to that cabin, otherwise air leakage can cause the weeeeeeee noise, probably FLX have bigger cabin for that filter anyway, i already solved that problem... see any different here??? [attachmentid=2998873] let's zoom in!! oopps!! some strip is missing... [attachmentid=2998874] ta da!!! modded my cabin filter, no more weeeeeee noise [attachmentid=2998875] |

Got onto the floor and had a good look at all tyres. No foreign objects stuck.
Did a test drive in my car park. The sound is there, but it's very faint. You can hear it only if everything else is quiet. Seems to be coming from the left side. My gut feeling is that it's merely an annoyance. The car feels perfectly normal while moving. Still, better safe than sorry. Anyway, the sound seems to be related to something between the road surface and the tyre thread, not the tyres themself. Oh the sound is more like, rip rip rip rather than pak pak pak. Poor alignment or imbalance wheel or swollen rubbers will cause vibration or off-center steering at most, not weird sounds. Ahh I've thought of that. This afternoon, when I parked at 1Utama there was a large spill of engine oil at the lot where I parked. Still, I can't find any traces of oil on the threads. Maybe some rubber got partially torn off, or something sticky got stuck in between the threads I think I'll stop by the tyre shop instead of the SC. Can't afford to wait a few hours for inspection, and this problem seems tyre related. This post has been edited by lhwj: Aug 14 2012, 01:19 AM |

Turtle tayar FTW Me still considering either Mich XM2 or Yoko C Drive 2 for my stock 14" alloy rims. Any advice? QUOTE(lhwj @ Aug 13 2012, 09:17 PM) No more turtle tyres I must do muscle workout before driving your Iswaga, later have to reverse 20 times just to get out of the lot QUOTE(manubis @ Aug 14 2012, 01:00 AM) Could be tayar bengkak. If not go to tayar shop, the only inspection you can do is by hand. Use your palm to gradually sweep through the tayar surface to see whether its wavy. Tayar bengkak may not directly caused by the tayar itself, it could be an emergency brake that eat up part of the rubber. It could be over inflated(cheap tyres tend to have this kind of problem, not talking about XM2, but hey! Who knows). Last but not least, absorber mounting makan 1 side will also have this kind of problem as the shock rate of absorber imbalance,This post has been edited by davidke20: Aug 14 2012, 01:29 AM |

Also meaning it fits just right to the casing. On the other hand, the whining sound isn't really that bad. It just happened that when you hear it, you feel something different. Imagine, if Plotong drop a piece of filter before delivery of the car, will you still complain to Plotong regarding the whining sound? I bet not. With or without the filter, there is already whining noise from the cooling coil itself as wind channel through the leafs This post has been edited by davidke20: Aug 14 2012, 07:04 AM |
