1GB performance ram won't do squat if your games requires more than 1GB. I'd take slower but larger memory modules any time.

For heavy applications such as gaming, larger ram makes more difference.

Safe to say that, in this situation... quantity wins.

even in AMD systems? so far i heard in AMD systems, the clock speed is important. is this true? if thats the case which one would bring more benefit to an AMD system? tight timings or high mem freqs?

There's no point if you have 1GB of superfast memory with supertight timings if your applications uses more than 1GB of ram; causing your hard disk to swap disk.

You will encounter better experience with more ram in this case. It all depends on how much ram you're using in your daily applications and games.

any other nforce3 user here with uccc pc4000, but cant push it beyond ddr520??
for some reason, im stuck at ddr510.. test with a venice also same..
but i can tighten to 3-4-3-8 @ 2.6v
i need a solid proof, if its nforce3 limitation, coz getting a nf4 board means i need new GC too sweat.gif

mine's a winnie, but since u've said u borrowed an E6 Venice also no go, then i just assume that i wont have better luck other than changing both mobo and proc..... and also the video card. AArrrkkkk..... well at least i can run my ram at 240Mhz @ 2.5-3-3-8 laugh.gif
