Happy Monday blue...

yesterday joint my old man group riding up to Fraser hills from KKB stadium...

felt something totally different oppose from my 1st ride up Fraser hills mistakenly where im cycled from PJ.

VOSP (Very Old Strong Person). i would admit the old man gang are fast... with average of 50 years old above...

Going up, feel good... not much sweat as i'm took my own sweet time... maintaining at speed 17-19km/hr until Gap.

while last 8km going uphills, followed old man pace... sweat as lot although the weather is cool and chill! really nice enjoyable ride!

coming down, it's was so cool, lucky some trick learnt from old man, put newspaper behind jersey in front body as wind shield! it's work very well...

it's an old professional riders trick... jus stuff it under the jersey...

i sort of think it doesn't really work as well here... because most of this happens in european high mountains where the air is too cold or there is a possibility of high humidity that the riders want to use the newspaper to soak up the moisture... now riders have very good inner wear and race jackets in the events of a cold descent which the team soigneurs will prep and hand to them at the top of the climb...

finally purchased my first road bike, exitway ergo logic 1.5k. i know u guys will say this is so wrong, well i did tried two bikes ones is  alloy frame with carbon fork (volcano brand) with shimano tiagra groupset. i tried on the bike and oh well, i am not comfortable with the handling and the seat, the shop owner already adjust the position to suit my body size but still i feel awkward and not comfortable, the handling was not up to my taste.
Then i tried the exitway ergo logic, when i sat on it, oh my, wat a comfort and the handling yeah, it feel right with my hand. At that time I was like, wat the hell? I paused for a second to decided which bike and i decided it because it is the exitway bike that my body feel comfortable with...did tried to weight yeah, the exitway is abit heavy compared to volcano frame.

And here my journey to the world of cycling start, and saving up for 10 speed groupset, the owner said can trade in and I think it is better for me to learn the charateristic of each part of the bike first before jumping the bandwagon of tiagra, carbon, fulcrum and the likes.

some Q on nutrition:

people normally willing to spend without doubt when paying for alcholol, for smoking, for gambling and etc etc....

but when come to nutrition, people have 101% doubt on it specially supplements.

How we as cyclist can have enough of nutrition to sustain our long ride? by eating more natural foods? but will it sufficient?

If our body did not get sufficient nutrition, our cycling wont be improve to next level. it's about train smart. but how?

haiyah... why give yourself a headache la...

for me... supplements, pre, mid or post recovery drinks is something you have to do for long term one la... not just because you go to events and use it specifically for that event... your body won't be able to adapt on how it is fed to it when it is not previously used to it...

i heard some people who is not used to using powergel actually have problem with it and up to the point of vomiting... some people say it's due to the flavor... but i think it's due to how your intestinal track find itself absorbing so much glucose, sodium and watchamacallit is in that gel pack in a short time frame and then went into overload and cause some unwanted actions after that... it's not only about adapting to it... it's purely also about teaching your body to efficiently absorb and take care of the different medium that is used to deliver this needed nutrients to your body... you can't jus put it into shock at the very last minute...

same like altitude training.. you don't just go to the blardy high mountains for 2 weeks and hope your body will adapt to the thin oxygen and start to develop more red blood cells...  before and after that, you have to sleep in a blardy altitude tent for most of the time when you are at home or moving around just to prep, keep and sustain the level that your body is in...

same like girls diet la.. kenot just expect 3 apples for 1 day for 1 week and then expect to lose 5 kilos after that and never ever gaining it back.. wishful thinking la...

i for one got no money to go through proper fueling methodologies... i jus drink cold water as much as i can...
*
i'm aware of your point. it's not 1 week or 2 weeks can achieve ma....

anyway, btw, you're right on powergel. some people even cant take single powergel... for me, running 5-6 hours of 42km marathon timing pace, i can have 5-6 packs of powergels without any problem... somemore it's 2X caffeine le...

1 pack cost RM7.50, eat 6 pack RM45, complete a 42km marathon priceless...

now i'm changing my diet to much heathier punya... can feel some dizzy....

Give you 1 situation: 1 year reduce 1 inch would be ok right. if 15 years, doing the consistent thing, you will be like kurus dahan batang pokok....
so it's not working.

Thus as workload increase, your body will be become fit. Fit to support the endurance activities. That's why explain the still gemuk me! it's my body to support me!

no doubt, nutrition = money. hope my bonus higher this year... then i can buy more nutrition to feed my body...

i dont know about the details.

perhaps KH Msia is supported by KH SG, thus, some setup done in SG before send to Msia.

i thinks i prefer the mechanical groupset... dont know how cheap can Dura-Ace groupset cost when the electronic groupset become common available !

So how you guys did the standing up? just stand up and ride?

Wondering if the clipless pedal tension setting for everyone is tight(need more strenght to unclip) or light(easy exit)? For me i just put tension as light as pedal allow for to allow me to clip out easier.
*
no confidence on standing up? you can build up your confidence on stationery bike in gym / health club...

practice as much as you can on stationery bike... swing left right, swing right left until you have your confidence to try it on roadbike.

if worried on the clip shoe, no harm trying with normal shoe. get the feel. also try it as much as you can with ur normal non-clip shoe on roadbike with standup position before proceed to clip shoe.

I believe, when u switch to clip shoe, you able to feel the different ! you wont want to go back to normal shoe or stationery bike...

hope this step by step, standing up position on roadbike do helps...

good luck

My understanding would be tax exemption just like book. for this 1, its should be fall under "Hadiah wang kepada institusi atau organisasi diluluskan" aka Approved donation.

Let me re-intro to you: Magnic Light !

user posted image

user posted image

user posted image

QUOTE
Magnic Light works with all kinds of metallic rims (normally aluminum, steel or magnesium). While aluminium and magnesium are not magnetic (but paramagnetic) they are conductive. Relative movements of magnets and neighboured conductive material induce eddy currents in the conductive material - in our case the metallic rim. These eddy currents have their own magnetic fields (see Wikipedia) which are absorbed by the Magnic Light generator kernel and by this way produce electric energy. Although there is no friction the absorption of magnetic fields has a minimal braking effect, so we don't get energy for free. Magnic Light contains the most efficient LEDs currently available (CREE XM-L T6) to get maximal light from minimal energy.

this 1 peice of poison light cost as below:

Back light: USD 85
Front light USD 130

Combo of two above: USD 160.

technology = cost bomb.
