My current best avg speed after switching to RB from MTB only 26.1km/hr... that also on flat roads but lotsa bumps & 5 corners on 3 laps of 12km... haha... my average speed never ever got past 20kph...SUCKS...QUOTE(ryan3721 @ Aug 23 2012, 10:53 PM) wtf he did say that?!?! look down on customers think 'this shoe very expensive you can afford or not'..... in a good way... he is asking if you are sure you want to buy such an expensive shoe la... maybe the sound might be a bit harsh... so how much is the shoe here compare to in aussie? no need think more just use the clipless now, doesnt matter 100 or 1000km, me after 3000km only go clipless also have a near fall situation after using for few rides.... totally forgot was wearing a clipless, fortunately was going slow and managed to unclip by force just in time... at least he didn't say "you can afford it meh, you better put it down on the double before you drop it and crack the carbon sole".... that is insulting... clipless pedals have nothing to do with mileage or riding experience.. no matter how far you've ridden...a couple of tumbles is still the per-requisite when starting off on clipless... "almost" no one makes it without a fall... it's like driving la.. without ever learning to drive a manual... even if driving around in an auto for 10 years also will still stall the car on first try one... that's a given... QUOTE(ccseong @ Aug 24 2012, 01:58 PM) Hi, any good bike shop in KL/PJ area to recommend? want to get one for leisure purpose only. was interested in cyclocross bike but somehow very difficult to find one in M'sia. any idea why? is it because of the difficulty to get parts or something or is it just no demand? Thanks urrr... cos no one is interested in one.. and there is no CX tracks here... anyone who is interested in a bit of harsh road would have gone to MTB instead.. CX is neither here nor there, purely for competitive purposes...you can try to convert one from a normal road bike though... just find one with huge clearance in the fork and rear chainstay... after that, it is only a matter of the cantilever brakes and fat tyres... fulcrum makes some cx wheels that can take a bit more abuse if you intend to take it to the dirts... else, 32-spoke 3-cross mavic open pros will work wonders... difficult? not really.. there is this thing called ebay and the internet... as long as you are willing to pay.. there is a willing seller... haha.. i rode one 30cm tall long time ago.. i was once a very popular japanese exercise tool once... worked up a sweat just tryin to pedal it around the shop...
why is it the parents problem? allowing them to see the movie or buying them a singlespeed / fixie? i guess, this is one of the case that those "do not try this at home" warning does not help but incite more trying at home... just hope it doesn't really cause too much probs... |

QUOTE(vin_ann @ Aug 27 2012, 01:57 PM) i'm quite disaapointed with my own cycling technique. your old man is bullshitting you lar... who can pull perfect pedal strokes after a long ride... that is why there is the term "pedaling squares" mar...a 62 years old man can cycle much faster than me. he explains that i have strength, power, and endurance advantage over him, yet why he still able to overtake me in 100KM hilly ride? he said i cant catch up with him bcoz i'm dont have technical advantage. i'm just pedal 180 degree, while a season cyclist pedal 360 degree. that's where i lose to him... or rather this explain why i cant catch up with the group... time to re-learn. maybe your old man installed some motor in his seat tube like cancellara and trolled the hell out of you perfect pedal strokes are not something that you can achieve immediately... and you have to keep on telling yourself to do it until it becomes a natural thing... the best way is to find flat as pancake roads and learn to pedal with only one foot with your clipless pedals...then rotate and do it with the other... once you can crank the pedals over smoothly with no jerky motions especially on 5-7o'clock and 11-1o'clock crankarm... you are more or less there... |
