I may be wrong, but I do think that in the tax laws the cellphones (and anything that uses simcards) are not categorized as "computers".

Which means, Umobile postpaid (or Maxis, Celcom, Digi, XOX) are not eligible for the RM500 once-every-five-year tax redemption

Many thanks for the reply. It's just that I do not have a spare cellphone to plug in that simcard to check the usage/remaining figure (via the *118# route)

So, using the laptop that I'm using, with the U-mobile simcard plugged in, is there a way to check the usage via the Net?

Thanks in advance !

U're using Huawei modem right? Download mdma software here. Make sure the huawei/mobile partner software is off when u're using mdma, and u can check ur balance and quota using the ussd function. U can also use sms thru huawei/mobile partner software to check. Just I cant remember the command nor the number to send to. Maybe sifus here can help.

I oso went by 7e today and saw the banner. I was afraid UM decided to revise the plan, but thank god we now have 2 options!! I myself like umi28 better because I need the free mins. I can suggest the umi18 for my students to use.

as what i being told by the internal staff from umobile, only BROADBAND , MB68 and MB128 applicable on tax relief

that's why they are called "MB" but U28 U58 U88 are not

I've used up my quota and I realised they have now throttled me to 64kbps instead of the usual 128kbps. Anyone facing this as well?

if you want to save data, use Opera browser for desktop and mobile and enable the turbo mode. it'll save a lot of data. and install adblock. this is my setup when i am using umobile, once i am home with wifi, i use chrome all the way

but seriously 64 k and 128 k really no big difference, only available for whatsapp, small email, nothing else cool2.gif so we need to control our demand on the data supplied
