QUOTE(coolstore @ Sep 1 2012, 03:02 PM) maybe fixing sth ... ya u mobile or u mobile 2g, but speed ok. speed not so ok for me... at the same place where i used to be able to get 3-4mbps... now only about 1mbps.(didn't dare try those speedtest often, they suck the volume heavily if at high speed) anyway, was told by u mobile that they are transitioning to maxis. supposedly for data too... meaning nation-wide data coverage now?!? <-- i didn't ask to confirm... but i hope so... |

Hey guys..Just need some recommendation..I am leaving to UK soon for studies on scholarships and I need to consistently keep in touch with my gf from Malaysia..But the thing is both of us are poor fags which could only have a budget of less than rm40 per month for a broadband package..Only requires simple usage of viber and whatsapp..Would it be good to take the U28 plan or the broadband plan for 7.2Mbps then connect it using mobile phones or wifi? She has a smart phone too btw..

QUOTE(adam20 @ Sep 6 2012, 03:17 PM) want to ask ah how is umobile coverage are they using the sharing the same signal with maxis? or umobile not as good? bad?at my place, umobile is far outperform maxis. with dc-hspa+ MF680 getting 15mbps speed, while put same modem on maxis only can get 8.xxMbps. Yesterday done a new testing method, confirm both umobile and maxis also running DC-HSPA+ network in my place (thus both are the max dc-hspa+ speed here), tomorrow if got time will post out a more convincing way to verify network standard and quality in a new thread. share it out. QUOTE(noorimanyosh @ Sep 6 2012, 09:59 PM) speed is the same for all plans, best way to test it out at your place is to get purchase a prepaid number and use it to test the coverage in your area. speed depends on location (coverage) and the device used. with my Desire z, max speed i can get was around 8mbpsand yes you can keep your existing number, just tell them you want to MNP |
